Firstly It’s metaphorical not literal. Secondly, relatively speaking a parent is ‘all knowing all powerful creator’ compared to the toddler.

@funkeadewuyi_ Simplified: A parent can often predict what a toddler will choose or how a situation will turn out, but the child still genuinely makes those choices. In the same way, believers say God may already know the outcome, but prayer (freewill) still has a real role within that plan.

@dammy4trueluv Religion teaches that believers should seek help through the means God has provided, such as doctors, medicine, labour etc while also trusting and praying to God. Physicians and remedies are part of God’s provision, so relying only on miracles is not the intended approach.

They usually mean their personal outcome had meaning, not that global events revolved around them.
