Walked thru all of CES and took 1000 pics, even in the moment it was very obvious, but after a few days of reflection my belief has only gotten stronger, WE ARE EARLY !! The best booths got very little attention, so much treasure in the dark corners.

The reason they call America the "Land of Dreams" is that the base level of material abundance and "flexiblity" is so high that life outcomes really are significantly determined by "mindset." You do "manifest" your own reality here in a unique way. This can be bad or good.
Max@minordissent

The bar is so incredibly low. If you can muster even the faintest modicum of agency every day for just a few years, you will easily propel yourself into the top decile for your age on every dimension that matters.

I came out of a mushroom trip realizing we must allow people to lose in order to make progress, that trying to save everyone inevitably leads to collapse, that inequality is the engine of all growth, from evolution to economics to science. Not exactly a scientific insight, but not fluffy hippy stuff either.
David Sun@arcticinstincts

Has anyone ever come out of these “profound” psychedelic trips with a verifiable scientific insight or breakthrough in physics or psychology or something? Can you fix Africa now? Why do these trip reports just read like Eckhart Tolle Burning man Deepak Chopramaxxed guruslop

People struggle to differentiate fluid intelligence from knowledge because, given enough preparation, memorized templates become a solid substitute for on-the-fly adaptation

Every night human beings go to sleep, lose all sense of their known reality, plunge into an abstract hyper-dimensional realm of infinite experience where time collapses, all moments instantly manifest, and then they wake up and just go about their day.

TIL that the person who coined AGI as an acronym is out here posting that we, in fact, have it as it was originally envisioned (with receipts pointing to a fairly falsifiable definition for the term)
Mark Gubrud 🇺🇸@mgubrud

@MaMoMVPY Well, Lars, I INVENTED THE TERM and I say we have achieved AGI. Current models perform at roughly high-human level in command of language and general knowledge, but work thousands of times faster than us. Still some major deficiencies remain but they're falling fast.

I got a 1T (trillion) parameter model running on my MacBook Pro. Kimi-K2. 1.029T params. ~1 TB raw weights. 524 GB converted. ~1.7 tok/s. Yesterday it was 671B. Today it's 1T. Same laptop. Same M4 Max. No cloud. When I say we: I mean Claude and me.

Soon we get a new technology nobody is prepared for. All components of Bitcoin existed by 2008. Someone just needed to put them together in a novel way.

Wow, RISC-V is really gaining traction again. Alibaba just announced the Xuantie C950…which is basically claiming Apple M1 (ish) levels of performance. I don’t see a lot of people talking about it! (2.6/Ghz SPECint2017, Apple M1 P-core also around ~2.6)

Today, we're introducing @arenaphysica, the electromagnetic superintelligence company. Our mission: accelerate the design, development, and deployment of the devices that will sense, communicate, compute, and actuate in the future of autonomy, with EMSI. For years, we’ve been building a new type of company in the shadows with our partners and collaborators. We're proud to share that we’ve deploying EMSI with @AMD in AI compute, @anduriltech in defense technology, and @SiversSemicond in satellite and 5G communications. We've reached the Electromagnetic Inflection. software-defined hardware == electromagnetically-governed device Their behavior more attributable to Maxwell's equations than Newton's. A car's most expensive subsystem is its electronics. A datacenter's binding constraint is power delivery and SerDes interconnects. The F-35's avionics cost more than its engine. Electromagnetic design is a physics problem, and at @ArenaPhysica, we're building the stack to solve it. -> Atlas: an agentic platform deployed as the intelligence system of record for hardware workflows at companies building frontier devices, making probabilistic reasoning engines capable of deterministic engineering work. -> The EM Foundation Model: the first physics foundation model for electromagnetism, learning the relationship between geometry and fields directly to drive the time and cost of verification toward zero. -> The Electromagnetic IP Factory: vertical co-development of the most advanced electromagnetic IP in defense, automotive, compute, and communications alongside our most ambitious partners. I’m proud to be building this alongside @PratapRanade , @_clairepan , @m__frei , @hk2532_harish , and the rest of our artist colony here at @arenaphysica. Read our thesis: arenaphysica.com/thesis And a big thank you to @packyM for telling our story and how electromagnetism (secretly) runs the world.
Packy McCormick@packyM

The future is electromagnetic. One challenge is that there are ~ten people in the world who can deeply intuit electromagnetism. RF engineering is "black magic." Arena Physica thinks machines can intuit EM better. CEO Pratap Ranade & I on AI for EM: notboring.co/p/electromagne…
