Jane Austen really did spoil us with cheerful romcoms. Reading North & South has been tough in contrast.

a lot of people isolate when things fall apart. not because they don’t want help, but because help was never something they could count on. when every dark moment in your life was something you had to survive alone, you stop expecting anyone to have your back.

Anybody else walking around with never-ending grief about the way their life was supposed to be?

I’m sorry, but this is just ridiculous. Race swapping Snape and most of the students, including Hermione, completely kills the immersion in HBO’s Harry Potter show. Snape was written as a thin, greasy haired man with a pale, sneering face. Turning the story into one about racism destroys its internal themes, and ruins the story. This show was over for me the moment it chose tokenism over staying faithful to the books.

Chapter five is like something you can inject in your veins.

Weirdest part of being an adult is being homesick for a time and place that no longer exists.

I always liked Austen novels for their happy endings and it’s quite shocking and sad that Jane Austen’s own life was so sad.

INTERNET: Help us find the ID of this officer who dragged a defenseless puppy from the back of a rescue van back to torture at Ridglan Farms. This was right after a Ridglan truck attempted to run over rescuers. (She did nothing about that.) We want to file a complaint.

It’s such a pity and so sad that Jane never really got the fame and riches during her lifetime but only got them posthumously when it was of no use to her.
