@khond504 @WFAN660 @CMacWFAN @StevenACohen2 I am not upset about anyone that they got rid of. After last year's disaster I wouldn't be complaining about fans on any level. Many fans probably took the tickets and than couldn't find many people to go

@wm8125 @WFAN660 @CMacWFAN @StevenACohen2 He’s annoyed bc some a-holes took the tickets and did nothing with em while fans that really want them didn’t get em. Upset about getting rid of dead weight? Be a fan of the name on the front.

I don't believe this Mets team is a viable championship contender. They don't have the leadership, nor depth.

Folks like Jay Bilas always love to cry that the NCAA and its member schools are living in the past. Yet curiously, the moment anyone highlights the lopsided Big Ten & SEC revenue disparity and calls for actual equity, his stance reverts to: 'But it’s always been that way!'

I do have hope they can sweep the final four games under the new bench boss, Pete DeBoer. Realistically, for it to propel the #Isles into a playoff spot — this is one of the most important days of the season. We need: —TB over OTT —NJ over PHI —DET vs CBJ, end in regulation 🙏

This is fun though Chris!!! They’re gonna have to win out. I’m here for it. Time will tell. Time will tell 🤞🏼LGI…

Yeah, Darche has made mistakes. I was critical of some when announced, and a few were not minor miscalculations. Think Darche doesn’t realize this now? He’s also done good work behind the scenes for the #Isles. I’m told by countless people who’d know that the players and front office staff greatly respect him. Importantly, he elevated the development pathway after the Lamacalamity in Bridgeport. The problem for the Darche Sucks Brigade is that we know Malkin and Ledecky are giving the GM all the resources needed for cleanups on Aisle Mathieu and to build a contender. For one example, Darche will use a buyout if needed. For another, big money was just dropped on an upgrade to a more experienced, accomplished and, yes, analytical head coach. These are not the Walsh-Millstein-Imprisoned Owners-Wang Islanders. They operate like the best NHL franchises do. So have at it, members of the DSB. Obsessively point out Darche’s rookie year fumbles. But you’re gonna have to break out new graphs and material eleven months from now when Pete DeBoer’s New York Islanders are at least 18 games over NHL .500 and comfortably in a playoff spot.

@DynoDangle More have to go than a couple. A complete revamp has to be done. We are old and slow on the blueline and still don't have enough top 6 forwards and need an overhaul of the 4th line

If people think I've been negative before just wait until these bums waste Schaefer & Sorokins brilliance. #Isles  Expecting a couple of friendly faces gone next season if thats the case. Regretful that I (and many others) saw them for what they were but management did not.

@IslesDen @DanTopping2 @TuckonSports Schenn is signed for big money for 2 more years and the first thing Deboer does is take him out of the center position because he knows he is washed. If he is playing top 6 next year than 100% this move hurt the future

It was a GREAT decision to hire Pete DeBoer as the #Isles next HC by Mathieu Darche. Hopefully it’s the beginning of many decisions or transactions by him that will truly help this team move forward. We desperately need him to learn from his mistakes this season. That’s all.

@ryanpmulvaney @JayBilas It's unregulated. The players should be able to make as much as they can from their NIL. Transfer portal is a different issue

Thankful that @JayBilas addressed this on College GameDay. Suddenly college sports need “saving” because college athletes are being paid and can transfer. Suddenly the NCAA needs antitrust protection. Odd. For decades, while everyone ate off the backs of college athletes, nobody sought federal regulation. Nobody sought an antitrust exemption. The urgency to lobby Congress to "save college sports" only came to be once the college athletes started getting paid. Let that sink in.

It took only 2 years for Curt Cignetti to win a National Championship at Indiana. It took only 2 years for Dusty May to win a National Championship at Michigan. All you need is the right guy.

@BrianMikeKlein @JohnnieBaxley3 What? I am all for them getting every penny they can make. The schools and conferences have made money for years and its about the time the players got paid. My concerns are they will end up hurting the 18-21 year old college athletes. I don't want them to lose out

The problem isn't athletes being paid; everyone agrees that this is a good thing. The problem is unlimited free agency on an annual basis with no enforceable rules for the entire process.
Mit Winter@WinterSportsLaw

As @JayBilas correctly points out, there’s a lot of hypocrisy in college athletics right now. It’s only when athletes begin to get paid that it’s necessary to have a federal law to “save college sports.”

@NILnotNLI Unionization and Collective Bargaining cannot in any way shape or form be “imposed” on college athletes. It’s plain and simple their choice.

If NCAA athletes simply don't want to be employees, and if unionization and collective bargaining have to be imposed upon them, how is Jay Bilas being "pro-athlete"?
