@WiegandAxel @christlet @mpi_nat This may have happened in Boston 😉. When I started my Ph.D. in Xiaowei’s group the current state of the art was intensified CCD cameras, and when Andor introduced EMCCDs single molecule imaging became much more sensitive. Great times 🤓

@christlet @mpi_nat @wmarkbates Mark might not remember, but maybe 15 or 20 odd years ago I met him in Göttingen for the first time to discuss Andor EMCCDs. I still recall that he wanted to know "everything", as the technology was still very young. Hope you had fun in the lab!

Our mesoscopic oblique plane microscope is online: opg.optica.org/optica/fulltex… It enables rapid volumetric imaging of a whole zebrafish embryo with ~2.3 micron lateral resolution. This is enabled by merging a couple of optical innovations and tricks. 1/N
