On paper - Worse. Thieneman, Bryant, (which version) Bradbury, Raymond & Stevenson (CB2)
For
Byard, Brisker, Wright, Edmunds, Dalman, Moore
Optimism comes from QB/Coach improving full roster + Loveland/Wright ascension.
Pessimism - d line maybe WORSE & Thuney turning 34

.@DavidHaugh and @BradBiggs debate if the Bears' roster is better or worse than when the 2025 season ended. "I think it's going to be better," Biggs says. "I don't think I agree," Haugh says. "Who did they lose that you're like, 'What are they going to do here?'" Biggs says.
English

@BShulkes @DarrylConrad Drew wasn't a PB Center until last year which was far & away his best season. Bradbury can fill in & do similar with his experience & the strength around him.
English

@DarrylConrad Rookie safety being a massive upgrade I’m unsure. Agree on mostly pushes thereafter. Grady Jarrett and Montez Sweat another year older and you added next to nothing youth wise.
Offensively you lost a pro bowl center and your most steady WR.
English

@NFL_Convo That's what they signed 3 DT for, signed & drafted 4 LB for, signed & drafted 2 attacking S for. 🤡
English

@clayharbs82 Irresponsible would have been drafting a couple Edge guys early that might not be ready or fit the scheme & then deciding you have to cut a guy you owe $20 million to in order to keep those draft picks on the roster.
English

The Bears had a solid draft.
Drafting strictly for need is how you keep your team’s ceiling low. The right player has to fit your team, your scheme, and your vision — not just the consensus big board.
Do they still need more D-line help? Absolutely.
Expecting Dayo Odeyingbo and Shemar Turner to come back BETTER after serious injuries is irresponsible roster management. They combined for 1 sack in 15 games. I’m more bullish on Austin Booker than most, but for a team that was 29th in pass-rush win rate and pressure rate last year, more is needed.
A dominant D-line helps you win. No debate.
But it’s not the only way to build a winning football team. #DaBears #Bears
English

@dvsxavier @clayharbs82 TE & Returner also needs & both will likely see the field immediately.
English

@clayharbs82 Agreed.
Drafting an EDGE, would've been good insurance if it didn't work out with Dayo.
Shemar is moving outside, which means there are concerns.
Safety and Center were needs. Malik was a good value pick in the 4th.
The rest of the picks are complete projects.
English

@HoneyBear2025 @JoeySangwich_ He's probably got too much of his input behind the $40million going to Grady & Dayo to really complain right now.
English

@JoeySangwich_ Anyone do a wellness check on Dennis Allen? Wonder what his thoughts are on no DE help

@flapprdotnet @jacobinfante24 Seeing as he's on a guaranteed deal still & Dayo is owed $20 mil we don't have a lot of choices for '26. Can completely rebuild the D Line in '27
English

@jacobinfante24 Turner looked particularly overmatched at both positions last year before his injury.
Hoping he recovers and finds another gear, but... not sure this is a good plan to rely on.
English

As an edge rusher for Texas A&M in 2023, Shemar Turner had 6 sacks, 10.5 TFL, 36 pressures, and a 24.7% win rate against true pass sets.
The hope is Turner will provide key depth for the #Bears at DE. With a lack of offseason moves on the DL, he’ll need to step up for them.

English

@NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB Nobody on the board when they picked was better then what they have now
English

The Chicago Bears weren't the only team that didn't select an edge rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft.
But why didn't the Bears draft one or sign an edge rusher in free agency?
Find out in my latest article for @BearsRTB

English

@NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB Someone should post an Austin Booker highlight reel as a @ChicagoBears Maybe fans would realize why Poles did not select an edge in this draft. 🐻⬇️
English

@OnlySharpPicks @NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB That last sentence is the most important. $20 million says he's playing until you just can't put him out there.
English

@NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB They like dayo enough to give him a big shot. Just like nate Davis. Poles doesnt admit his mistakes quickly. Turner they like too. Kinda simple. Dayo is their guy until he’s cuttable
English

@jgod42 @NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB Including the money tied up there. Can't just cut Dayo for some kid they drafted. Turner has guaranteed money. It would be awesome if we could have added more to the position but it's going to have to wait for both cap & roster space.
English

@NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB They already have 5 DE that are going to see significant time after resigning Hardy and if you count Turner. They started with 5 on the roster last year. They just signed a bunch of DT so maybe they are prioritizing that instead?
English

@NicholasMoreano @BearsRTB I actually think Booker has a better shot at that, joking aside.
English

@nate106salinas @CalebFC18 Funny.. all Bengals had was a pass rush 🤷🏼♂️
English

@CalebFC18 Can’t wait to be the new bengals. Will never win a Super Bowl with this pass rush

@Roddyblue92 @DingsLord @WaddleandSilvy And no, they should not grabbed undersized guys who fit a 3-4 scheme like Byron Young
English

@Roddyblue92 @DingsLord @WaddleandSilvy They legitimately missed on ONE. Exactly ONE. Tuli Tuipulotu should have gone over Gervon Dexter. Every other so called Edge that was available to them as a project/tweener/developmental player in those drafts has done nothing.
English

@RLH73492489 @DingsLord @WaddleandSilvy Except that they'll both see the field pretty much immediately in their respective roles with room to grow. Both taken early? Probably true, but they're both guys that they absolutely wanted at those positions vs. reaching for their 15th-20th DL it makes perfect sense
English

@DingsLord @WaddleandSilvy The TE & WR in the third round were 5th & 7th round projected. They got nothing out of those picks,
English

@bunde_russell @CHGO_Bears Agreed. My take is these guys will be on the field immediately & Ben/Poles wanted those sure things over more projects that we can still get today in 4th & 5th
English

@CHGO_Bears Rounds 2 and 3 did fill needs on offense that were vacated by FA. But, did the need there out weigh the need for defense? Time will tell. Hopefully today will be ALL defense!!
