No if you actually gave them both their equivalent level of technology that's pretty much how it would go down in most cases, they were basically the exact same kind of Warrior from different cultures. Both are armored so heavily that it would basically turn into a grappling match and at that point it's a tossup. They both have basically equivalent anti-armor options, they both have equivalent range options, the samurais didn't really use Shields but that isn't going to be a huge game changer since using the shield means you can't use anything that can functionally defeat the armor. Knight has a slight edge due to the physicality aspect but it's a slight edge and it's basically 50/50 in the majority of cases.

Anime has tricked the minds of several generations because, let's be real... Japan steal sucks... the Katana is only a great weapon against a technologically inferior or dumber culture of enemies. A Knight's sword would shatter that toothpick and be done with it.
