Was posed a fascinating question: What is the toughest defense the Vikings are scheduled to face this year?

@_Drewskii__ @alec_lewis 9th in total defense, 3rd in 3rd down defense, 4th in yds/play. Chase Young, Cam Jordan, Demario Davis. Salty group. Can rush the passer. Good home-field advantage. 🤷‍♂️

@JasonHarmonNFL you don’t like getting a couple of those out of the way early when everyone is trying to get their wits about them and the weather is decent (CHI / GB)?

If the Vikings open up the season with two straight divisional road games I will be writing a VERY strongly worded letter to the league office.

@DetroitOnLion having one of them play the Thursday prior is also an option. It's not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be. If anything, I'd volunteer to be the team who plays on a Thursday before a Weds Thanksgiving Eve. Preferable.

Also, screw "Thanksgiving Eve" games. I don't want Wednesdays games. Assuming these teams play the previous Sunday, it's going to be a terrible product.

@wobby @SeifertESPN Look at all the potential fans they are being exposed to by playing these games. They have a name suited for this 😀. I don’t hate it. Me and the boys are planning on making the trip. I’m glad you popped back on my TL Wobby. Going to check out the pod.

Re: Vikings in Mexico City. There is no rule preventing it, and with 9 international games, that means ~ half the league's teams needs to be involved. But I will say I was surprised based on what I had been hearing -- or, now I realize, assuming -- since last year.
Sev94@Sev9494

@SeifertESPN Shouldn't have been possible considering the vikings made a deal with the league to do 2 international games last season to not do any this season.

yes for sure ... good point. Vikings were not only an early participant but now a frequent one. Have gotten help from other clubs, for sure, but are also a good resource for later adopters / participants. From what I recall, ownership is keen on involvement in growing the game internationally (and making $$, rightfully so).

@wobby Fair. It objectively adds workload to the organization as a whole but I imagine those efforts are getting streamlined with every swing at the plate

@JasonHarmonNFL was in my 4th season with the club that year. Was told about the trade the night prior so we could prep announcement and content for the next day. Literally didn't sleep that night because I was so excited about knowing in advance and about what it meant for the team!

In 2008 the Vikings acquired Jared Allen from the Chiefs in exchange for the 17th, 73rd, and 82nd picks in the draft. Safe to say the move IMMEDIATELY looked like a steal for Minnesota.

@JJWatt I hear that coming from a player's perspective for sure. But compared to what the future state is going to be, we ain't seen nothin yet.
