A few hours ago, the bad news hit. Lex, the dev behind GSD, rugged the token, wiped socials, disappeared. $120k in fees. $100k from a Bags competition. $50k from the Bags Hackathon after placing in the first cohort. And still chose to nuke his own community with the excuse that corporate AI was moving faster than his product. That’s not a Bags problem. That’s a bad actor problem. People like that could’ve launched anywhere, on any launchpad. It changes nothing for the builders who are actually locked in every single day, especially the crypto native devs shipping real onchain products, fee sharing apps, and things that only make sense in crypto. One rug doesn’t kill Bags szn. Higher for the real builders. Higher for crypto native apps. Higher for @BagsApp.

It’s been over 24 hours and we still haven’t heard anything from @BagsApp on the $GSD situation. To be clear, I don’t believe Bags had any way of knowing Lex would do this, and I’m not blaming them for another person’s actions. But the coin still exists, the community is still here, and there’s still an opportunity for Bags to do the right thing by the people who supported this project through their platform. The entire community, including developers and future projects, are watching closely to see how this gets handled. Moments like this shape trust far more than the good times ever will. Nobody expects miracles overnight. But communication, transparency, and good faith toward the community would go a long way right now.

All my support goes to the @BagsApp and the GSD community during this situation There’s no reason to blame Bags team, despite what many people are doing right now. They supported GSD throughout its entire journey and stood behind its community every step of the way What happened was both unpredictable and hard to believe. Nobody could have imagined that a hackathon winner would end up betraying the trust of the community that helped them succeed This is also a reminder of why crypto was built around decentralization in the first place. Systems should not depend entirely on the decisions or actions of a single individual Wishing strength to everyone affected.
