@nobleisawinner We pay 20% on top as "make up for the employer underpaying its employees". We don't pay 100% more than (i.e., 200% of) that existing amount. Do not try to normalize this, it's anti-consumer, anti-labor, and only helps the owners scam us all.

@nobleisawinner First thought: if restaurants can't afford to pay their staff, they need to charge more, or not be in business. Second thought: We're already getting charged a percentage more for inflation. We don't owe an extra percentage on the extra percentage we already pay. (which is 100%!)

@skylos Very likely. In any rational and non-torture-inflicting system that recognized the ongoing stress of pain prevents you from putting that energy toward healing, you could improve more than 3 times faster than expected in current US medical care.
