The sheer non-determinism of claude code is interesting. I mean, seriously, I made an mcp i configured as an mcp and it'll sometimes decide to try and execute the commands for the mcp *through a bash script*. Wat?

@washghost1 you can't - being fundamentally irrational about something like this is inexplicable, those who are mentally healthy will not understand - also, your house can burn down with you in it from running the dryer too.

claiming "what stalin did is what communism is" is the same as claiming "what RINOs do is what republicanism/conservativism is" - the former actions *are* reprehensible in both cases. Its disingenuous rhetoric to illogically leap to defining what something is from there.

@_Uro A thousand times this.Further, if you can make it so that there isn't a super bright band catching the eye - so it is indirect light - so much the better.

if you're going to line your ceiling/walls with LED strips PLEASE invest a few more dollars to get the kind with some sort of diffuser layer so the individual LEDs aren't showing. It looks a million times better.

The issue for a sugar addict like me is not that sugar free candies don't taste sweet. Its that they don't give me the physiological response of the sugar. Which isn't enough for me to *not* avoid the sugar - but is enough for me to be grumbly about it.

UX fails that aggravate me so much: When there is *precisely one activity available* - such as "click this button to log in" there is no universe in which it is appropriate to demand that I click it. Just do it already without my interference, goddammit!

@RealDutchsinse @NathanTippy Straight back to the world before abs, stability control, traction control, tpms, emissions controls and hell why not go without airbags and seat belts pretensioners. The need for these things is written inn blood.

Yes, there are stupid questions. I'm not sure if the poster is stupid, more likely just trying to manipulate people. Global annual research spend is more like 50 billion, not 200. Let's tackle 75% increase in cancer deaths. Note it's cancer deaths not death rate that she brings up. The world population has grown about 33%. Life expectancy has been on a steady increase. Because cancer disproportionately strikes older people, lower death rates from cardiovascular disease. diabetes and infectious diseases means more people will get cancer. The survival rates for cancer have improved dramatically and tells a progress story. Lastly, if you only measure progress by deaths, you're ignoring what has been learned that facilitates treatment development. A lot of promising approaches are in the pipeline now and the funding led to the research leading to the drug candidates. So saying the only thing we got was more deaths is a woefully ignorant statement. I hope it was asked in earnest and this response was useful, but I doubt it.

@hashjenni Contrary to the common propaganda, many of them *are* air cooled. As for 'solar powered', solar power is part of the mix of power they consume already, and it keeps growing.

@FifthThird did eventually call me (right before their call center closed) and explain that I needed to reset my pin again and gave me the activation number. I called it and reactivated the card (but it didn't ask me for a new pin) then I tried the site and the process worked...
