@george__wing my opinion but probably both. imo the models are basically smart enough to do anything that a human can do, but it just does not know how to use the tools yet and it just does not have those tools yet

I’m not sure we’ve come close to squeezing all the capability we can from the space of possible harnesses. It feels like the role of harness engineers is to mine away at the capability overhang in current models, and it’s unclear how much there is left to mine. My current perspective is that there is still a lot to go after, especially with subagent and planning interactions, and I think the Codex app is still pretty far away from really juicing all the frontier capability that can be had, especially with subagents. How is there no UI for that in the app yet :p
So when a model can’t produce something like an AAA-quality game end to end, I’m not sure that should be taken on the model’s actual ceiling. or if we’re still early on the interaction paradigm.
