I remember seeing them most late night on E! I had insomnia really bad back then and I’d usually watch Howard Stern’s E! show (which was ahead of its time when you think about it). Every commercial break, all night long

If you’re ever unfortunate enough to see an engine failure like this on the aircraft you’re travelling in, a couple of reasons you don’t need to be scared (Although I understand it’s human nature).. 1) Firstly it’s very rare. Most pilots are likely to have one engine failure per career as new engines are VERY reliable. 2) The flight crew train and are tested for this exact scenario every 6 months in the simulator. Dealing with one becomes second nature as we’ve practised it so often. 3) Our first priority is making sure the aircraft is flying somewhere safe (Away from terrain) so the fire might not get extinguished immediately. The engine is designed to contain it in the meantime. 4) Lastly, and don’t take this the wrong way, communicating with the cabin is a fair way down the priority list so it might be a while before we speak to you. This does not mean it’s not being dealt with. #avgeek #avgeeks #aviation
