Venezuela will go home with $2.5 million in additional bonuses after winning the WBC championship. The team's total payout is $6.75 million, with half of the money going to the country's baseball federation and the rest split among players, coaches, and staff.

13 years ago, Venezuela was 0-2 in pool play and headed into their final game already eliminated. They fell behind Spain 3-0 and were 6 innings away from being relegated to WBC qualifiers in humiliating fashion. 13 years later they are the kings of international baseball.
