If this pisses you off, you can usually donate money or time to your local library!! Your library system has a board, consider running for a spot!! Let this remind you that most of us should focus our political energy on the local level!!

My heart breaks for queer ppl and ppl who rely on the library in Ridgeland. The mayor is demanding that the library go against one of its most deeply held values or forego much needed funding. How horrific!

On Aug. 6, Mkayla Robinson smiled for a photo with her arm around her little brother, both wearing backpacks. It was her first day of 8th grade & his of kindergarten—in a mask-optional school district. 8 days later, Mkayla, 13, died with COVID-19. mississippifreepress.org/14800/mississi…

Please consider donating to help Mkayla’s family pay for funeral expenses. Her mom’s Cashapp is $MykelRobinson if you don’t have Cashapp, my Venmo is @ wesley-craft, and I will pass the money along

BREAKING: An 8th grade Mississippi girl died this morning hours after testing positive for COVID-19. She attended classes throughout the week at a school that began with no mask mandate. Yesterday, Gov. Tate Reeves downplayed the danger to schoolchildren. mississippifreepress.org/14800/mississi…

Hard to find a purer distillation of evil than QAnon people who have spent all day attacking Chrissy Teigen after losing her baby.

Southern leftists must hate politics on Twitter. You get no help and get blamed for everything, even though you suffer the most under evil politicians and everyone is well aware how the right has gamed the system.

Nobody is appropriately gauging how quickly QAnon (and Q by other names) has taken over among suburban and rural white women. It is everywhere.

@MollyJongFast I can’t tell you how many of my mom friends and friends from high school believe this now and will be voting for Trump here in southern CA. I’m not talking 10, I’m talking hundreds of them.

Many will read this and think Mississippians are selfish idiots (many are) But my guess is that this mostly has to do with UI benefits. We have the most ppl living in poverty who can now buy basic needs, maybe for the first time ever.
The New York Times@nytimes

But there are dramatic differences among states. In Mississippi, activity is now 17% higher than what it was a year ago. In Massachusetts, a state that has moved cautiously, business visits overall are down 31%. nyti.ms/2YhPFoa
