@sammyjoluxton1 I used to think that this was one of those things we should allow people to do. After seeing what's happened in Canada, I realize that we should absolutely not allow this.

@sammyjoluxton1 Yeah unfortunately the problem with AS is that it's used to kill disabled people against their will by the state. Active issue that's been happening for awhile now.

@Mememememe54321 @sammyjoluxton1 For everyone one of those there are literally thousands of people choosing to die with dignity, rather than experience unneeded suffering. If you don't agree with MAID, you don't have to do it.

@sammyjoluxton1 Meanwhile in canada blind 26 year olds are being killed and vets who were hurt on duty and now need a wheel chair are being offered maid simply because they asked for a ramp foe their house. This is a slippery slop you don't want to go down.

@sirenblep You are talking about a reality that has existed for just 20 years. You speak of a sudden and extreme change as if that defines our nation through history. This country was ~95% white in 1990. We will not be ethnically genocide because you think it's mean to resist.

bro--i literally live in Calgary and its SO common to see kids of all backgrounds mixed together. i am old stock Canadian--white and ginger. my first boyfriend was a chubby 2nd gen chinese-Canadian. you are very detached from the current generation--who even outside of Canada IS more multicultural because of the internet.
Constand Filet Mignon@ConstandFiletM

@sirenblep @SpaceWalkerReal Canadian is a culture and ethnic identity. Just because someone assimilates doesn’t mean they’re accepted into it Look at any school cafeteria, it’s easily demonstrable that the majority of “white washed” / assimilated / born here immigrants aren’t accepted and seen as separate

As always it seems you can just straight up lie on here and people lap it up. Royal Mail’s current electric fleet almost entirely consists of small 50kWh Stellantis vans (from all of their brands) with a WLTP range of 174 miles for the older ones and 213 miles for the newest ones. They do have some outliers but nothing with range that low. The kind of range/performance described would be that of a 22kWh Kangoo ZE, originally developed for the French postal service funnily enough, thankfully it’s not 2012 any more.

"Bonjjj-jjj-jj-jj-j-jjj-jj" dude it's actually embarrassing for you to say these kind of things. These Alibaba bots are undeniably dogshit and just used to scam people. You not being able to admit that Optimus is clearly better in every aspect is so sad. You are so filled with hatred that you fail to see reality. Optimus, Atlas, Figure etc.. they are all so much better than this.

Zack falls for the most basic Alibaba white-labeled resell scam, and some people still believe this guy lol. “Wtf is going on?” Good question, Zack. Are you this dumb or just blinded by hatred?

This image captures one of those rare moments in war that would have earned a photojournalist a Pulitzer before the cell phone era. It shows a crewmember of a downed F-15E in Kuwait, hands raised, while a local, unsure of his identity, approaches with what appears to be a nightstick. #OSINT

@Boenau My family has one car. I bought it in 2009. We bought our house in 2014, we're 2 months away from paying off our mortgage. The latter is a direct result of the former.

Car dependency is so normalized that people can't imagine a family being able to save 100k over a decade by going from 3 cars to 2. Even talking about it makes people hysterical. Before you huff and puff at me, look up the numbers. The internet is an amazing resource.

@the_transit_guy Yes you can. Its a lagging indicator. Times were good before. They aren't not now. 60 year olds today will need to fight for socialized resources with millions upon millions of migrants for the next 20 years. Then you'll act surprised again. Prog.

I was born in Ontario. I first moved to Alberta in 1988 while going to school. I moved here permanently to Fox Creek, in 1990, after I graduated from university. As soon as I got here, I knew I had found my home and my people. For years my mother kept asking me when I was going to return home. At my wedding I finally had to tell my Mom that I had a new life now, and I was never going back. I married Karen, a 5th generation Albertan. We have 4 kids born here, which makes them all 6th generation. I myself am the 12th generation of my family on this continent. I am half French half Scottish, and I speak English and French fluently. People who listen carefully can detect a slight accent when I speak English, and a stronger one when I converse in French. I do not try to disguise my accent, or my heritage. I am actually extremely proud of my French roots, and what my ancestors have accomplished in this province. The whole north of the country was settled by the French. Coincidentally, my wife is a pure Franco-Albertan. Her family is from Falher, in the Peace River region, and we speak French whenever I hang out with them. People are often surprised that I still speak French, even though I live in a predominantly English province. It's proof, I tell them, that if your culture matters to you, you will protect it. As for my Alberta culture, everyone who knows me, knows that I'm a true Alberta "redneck". I don't act like an Albertan, I am one. I worked in the oil patch for 35 years, mostly in the field supervising actual operations and construction. Prior to X, I had a big following on YouTube where I was known for my outdoor adventures, specifically hiking in the Rockies. I hunt, fish, play hockey and live on an acreage in the country. I am an Albertan, and I will do everything I can to save this province. Independence is the only path forward for Alberta.

@Martyupnorth You definitely are not a born and raised Albertan yet you certainly try to act like one. You even try to disguise your Quebecois accent. I find it funny that someone isn't proud of their heritage but lectures us on Albertan values.

AGI is not coming. We are nowhere near AGI. What we have today is inference, not learning. Models get trained once on huge fixed datasets, then frozen. You ask questions, they remix patterns they already saw. Nothing updates. Nothing sticks. Talking to the model does not make it smarter. It does not learn from you. Ever. Learning is still slow, expensive - and offline. Look at self driving. You drive around a pothole, make a U turn, and come back. The car’s AI does not learn that you just solved that exact problem. It reacts the same way every time using sensors and rules. Do this 20 times a day and it still has zero memory that the pothole exists. It just re sees it. That is why edge cases never die. There is no local learning. No accumulation. No 'oh yeah, I’ve seen this before' LLMs work the same way. Tell it your name and it does not remember. The only reason it looks like memory is because scaffolding keeps shoving your name back into the prompt every time and sanitizing the output. The model itself has no idea who you are and cannot learn from interaction. It is structurally incapable. And the scaffolding is the worst part. It is pure duct tape. Just prompts on prompts on prompts around a frozen model. When something breaks, nobody fixes learning. They add another layer. Another rule. Another retry. Another evaluator model judging the first model. So you end up with systems that are insanely complex but mentally shallow. Debugging is hell because behavior comes from hack interactions, not a learnable core. Tiny prompt tweaks cause wild behavior shifts. Latency goes up. Costs go up. Reliability goes down. None of this compounds into intelligence. It just hides the cracks. Until we have real persistent learning and real memory inside the system, there is no AGI. LLMs are not built for this. You cannot prompt your way out of it. You need a totally different architecture. Yann LeCun is right. And even then, what architecture can actually learn online, store memory, and stay stable on today’s hardware? Best case, maybe 5-10 yrs. Right now it is all inference. It looks magical, but the emperor has no clothes. A lot of people see it. Almost nobody says it out loud.

The fact that the Liberals would win yet another election if one was held tomorrow is shocking. What is wrong with you people? And why are you confused that Alberta has had enough of this bullshit? There is no hope for you people.
