Laughton oozes culture & has plenty left in the tank to help the on-ice product. He fits perfectly no matter how things play out. If we’re competitive, he’s a player you want in the playoffs. If we enter a rebuild, he’s a vet you want mentoring the young guys. I’d bring him back.

Dhaliwal on Gillis: Not being in the NHL for the past 12 years has largely been his choice...He has met with numerous teams over the years but decided they weren't the perfect fit for him. He's well off and happy outside of hockey so he doesn't need a job that he doesn't love.

There is no valor in going after Gudas tonight. Absolutely none. The moment presented itself and the Leafs failed the test. They left their captain lying on the ice with a season-ending injury and no response. End of story.
