At one point does one become a fan of a franchise? If I have only played one game am I still a fan? What if a game is too hard, am I skill checked out of being a true fan?
Fandom is a spectrum, you can still appreciate the idea even if you don't play all the games.

@RobinPoedev I'm not typically a nintendo defender but they do arguably have a 100% consistency with art in the mainline games. The biggest controversy was with Wind Waker but now it's beloved.

Im not gonna pretend this isnt the worst case scenario for how link could look, but I am still curious what they decide to do with this, what they change, what stays the same.

@FinalFantasy Am I the only one who thinks these AAA HD-2D games look ugly as sin? You have indies with half the budget like Alabaster Dawn, Tears of Magic, and SacriFire using the artstyle with beautiful consistency while Square Enix is pumping out modern day mixels.
