We are beautiful. Equal. Humans. Kindness has to win. It’s time to reunite as ONE country. Plastic ☠️. Geoscientist/Coder. Climate Change. IS REAL. Save Trees.

This is what it looks like when our National Forests are clearcut.
Congressional Republicans call those trees "waste" when the trees are still alive, because they see live trees as commodities.
Vote every single politician out that refuses to take action. #ProtectPublicLands

We all need some good news and to remember that not all of humanity is evil, there are still a few good ones, doing great things without a reward.

@JorgeManzaSV @nayibbukele It is the governments responsibility to put regulations on the companies. We are the consumers, while we try to buy plastic free, it is near to impossible without owning a farm. We need alternative packaging ASAP.
English

No tires basura. 🇸🇻🙏🏻

I’m proud that New Mexico is first state in the nation to classify PFAS as hazardous waste.
These "forever chemicals" have no place in our water, soil, or communities. By taking this step, we're holding polluters accountable and protecting New Mexicans for generations to come.
Read about it in this New Mexican article:

@PleaseHelpFind4 As a fellow geoscientist, I can give you some hope. We learn about what rock formations have what animals, and where water will likely be. If anyone could survive the desert, it would be a geologist. I hope you find him soon!

@kid_riles @GOP Do something with that rage. Be the change you want to see.

This is what progress looks like. Here’s some good and inspirational news to end the week!

This just floored me.
Scientists discovered 5.6 million ground-nesting bees living under a single cemetery in Ithaca, New York.
That’s one of the largest and oldest bee aggregations ever recorded.
These aren’t hive bees. About 70% of native bee species in the U.S. nest in the ground, and they’re incredible pollinators doing a ton of heavy lifting for wildflowers and crops.
The best part? This giant colony exists in a place people walk over every day without realizing it.
Nature often thrives in the quiet spaces we overlook.

1,000-year-old trees get turned into furniture.
Meanwhile, 100-year-old buildings are protected as "historically important."
Old growth trees support thousands of species over their lifetime, insects, birds, fungi, and entire ecosystems that younger trees simply can't match.
They’re living cathedrals.
We protect what we value. It’s time we started valuing these ancient giants the same way we value old buildings.

@trwsenti They buy our energy. Energy is the sole currency of planet earth. We consume it as it consumes us.
