ARRESTED: Animal rescuers Zoe Rosenberg, Conrad de Jesus, and Rocky Chau were just arrested on warrants outside the Sonoma County courthouse after Wayne's sentencing hearing. We do not know what charges they are being arrested on or any other details at this time. They have all been involved in animal rescues at Sonoma County factory farms over the years. Zoe and Conrad have investigated Sunrise Farms and Reichardt Duck Farm as recently as a few months ago during Wayne's trial. We may be having a second #SonomaRescueTrial. Stay tuned for updates.

Great news! 🎉 The Kanaloa Octopus Farm, located near Kona on the Big Island, has permanently shut down. Hawaii's state authorities chose not to renew Kanaloa's lease due to sustained pressure from animal activists, media coverage, and a complaint filed by Harvard Law School. This action followed an investigation by Every Animal Project , which revealed that the facility was essentially a tourist attraction that collected money to support the development of an octopus factory farming industry. During the run up to the Iraq War we put up NO WAR signs in our front yard, and someone on the street would take them down every night. We would get up every morning and simply put them up again. I kept saying it was like Vietnam all over again, and people would call me “a facile thinker” who “didn’t understand.” Dennis Kucinich was in Congress at the time, warning against the war, ridiculed for what we now know to have been his prescience and wisdom. He told me one day that Congress felt like it was filled with “war fever.” The only thing we can say about the Iraq War now is that it was pure criminal madness. Anyone saying now that “they did the best they knew how to do at the time” is lying. Everyone who voted for it - including our current president - went along with something that anyone willing to look deeper into the facts knew even at the time was wrong. Beyond wrong. Hideously wrong. May God forgive us.
