The next time someone says "but but.. international law" Please show them this video of these China Maritime Militia vessels swarming Filipino fishermen inside the Philippines’ own Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The goal is to physically occupy space, block access, and intimidate local fishermen or resupply missions. In 2025, daily averages reached record highs of over 240 militia vessels across the South China Sea. The CCP doesn’t respect international law, tribunals, or sovereign waters. And it means nothing if no one is there to police it, and no credible deterrence exists.

BREAKING: Major confrontation between China and the Philippines near the Scarborough Shoal. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) have deployed 2 PCG vessels and 5 fishery patrol vessels to the shoal after Chinese Coast Guard vessels started harassing more than 20 Filipino fishing boats in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Philippines. A Filipino Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) flight over the area documented 6 China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels, 20 China Maritime Militia (CMM) vessels, and one People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) warship carrying out offensive activities in the area. Jensen Huang just explained why China is winning the technology race in two sentences. Huang: “Our country’s leaders… they’re mostly lawyers. Most of their leaders are incredible engineers.” One country sends engineers to lead. The other sends lawyers. One builds. The other regulates what was already built. Huang: “They showed up at precisely the time when technology is going through that exponential.” China did not stumble into the AI era. They arrived engineered for it. The education system produces engineers at a scale the West refuses to match. The competition is not tough. It is Darwinian. The culture rewards builders. Not commentators. Not consultants. Builders. Then the accelerant. Open source. When your talent pool runs that deep and that hungry, you do not hoard breakthroughs. You release them. The community multiplies everything. What costs American companies a quarter, Chinese teams finish in weeks. Not because they are smarter. Because the entire system points one direction. Zero friction between idea and execution. No committee. No review board. No eighteen-month compliance process. Then Huang said the part that should terrify Washington. Huang: “Their country was built out of poverty.” Comfort makes nations careful. Poverty makes nations relentless. When you built everything from nothing, you do not slow down to protect it. You accelerate because you still taste what nothing felt like. America built its dominance with engineers. The highways. The moon landing. The semiconductor. The internet. Then it handed the keys to the lawyers. Compliance departments. Regulatory bodies. Oversight committees. Review processes for the review processes. Every layer of protection is a layer of friction. And friction is a luxury you cannot afford when your competitor rides an exponential curve. Fridman: “It’s a builder nation.” Huang: “Yeah, it’s a builder nation.” No pushback. No qualifier. The West is not being outspent. It is being out-structured. Engineers ask how do we build this faster. Lawyers ask how do we build this without getting sued. One of those questions wins the century. The other writes a detailed report about why it lost.

I’m so tired of ignorant foreigners worshipping China’s railways and bridges. China’s infrastructure looks great, until you realize almost every single province is bankrupted like pre-2010 Greece, or worse. It’s called ‘local debt’. Think about it: the entirety of China’s savings by ordinary people and firms over decades of economic boom got dumped into these rubbish assets through the government-controlled banking system. Roads and bridges are classic vanity political projects: look good but make no money. To build these on debt is financial suicide. And when local debts become insurmountable, the central government poured even more savings into these irresponsible, default-worthy debts. Every city on earth can build new bridges, roads and highways if they’re willing to empty their bank accounts and borrow as China did (and able to bulldoze over houses at the government’s will.) Yet, behind every new bridge in China are a bunch of effectively bankrupted families whose bank savings have been completely decimated. They just don’t know it, because - guess what - the government controls information too.

@ESPNFC Sad to see a player whose team is doing awful in the league and is almost on the verge of relegation spending his time trying to look like a fashion model instead of putting in work to see if he can rescue his team from the abyss they have fallen into. Misplaced priorities

Thirty years ago, Taiwan became an independent country. Media friends, please stop calling Taiwan an "island", "self-ruled island", or "island democracy". Taiwan is a country. The fact that China threatens to invade it proves that it is not part of China.
Bi-khim Hsiao 蕭美琴@bikhim

Exactly 30 years ago Taiwan held our first presidential elections. Since then & although imperfect, our young democracy has thrived and matured, but we are constantly reminded that freedom cannot be taken for granted, it has to be cherished and protected.

China has inequality but no one cares. People look at central Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and scream ‘CHINA’. They don’t even bother venturing out to look at Beijing’s shabby suburbs, let alone the rest of China - villages, towns, counties, before staging their mindless orientalist worships. It’s ridiculous.

Portraits of emperor Qianlong, the empress & concubines. These are among the finest imperial portraits in chinese history, masterfully blending the tech of western oil painting with chinese painting. The artist was G. Castiglione (郎世宁), the top court painter of Qing empire—

This is the actual and legitimate demarcation of China's Exclusive Economic Zone in the South China Sea mandated by UNCLOS. China is a signatory of UNCLOS. If China really respects international laws as it claims, it must not invade the EEZ of other nations.

Let's be clear. China STILL imports 70-80% of its smartphone parts to assemble them as iPhone in every "Made in China" iphone. They do not mock themselves for this but proudly say "we manufacture for the world." Only with such confidence and positivity can a country progress.

Paraphrasing Fareed: India is now the principal manufacturer of smartphones for the US. All this has happened in 4 years. We thought only China could do this due to its political system. Fareed turning bullish on Modi's India means something. Get the signal and get positive.
