The funny part about the whole thing is that a lot of people descend into stage 5 meltdowns for the simple statement of fact that other countries could do things better. Yes e.g. German bread is superior. By a lot. But as a German I have NO issue whatsoever to recognise that random train station sushi in Japan shits over 99.99% of all sushi here, some random shitty taqueria in Mexico utterly destroys every single Mexican restaurant in this country, most random French patisseries in bum fucked Ruritania wreck pretty much every bakery in Germany when it comes to sweet stuff, pasta in Italy is a whole different ballgame than it is here. What cracks me up is that it seems to be perceived as an outright attack on the country to simply state that yes, not everything is the best in the US either lol.

this discourse is so stupid, Americans have bakery bread and Europeans have processed prepackaged loaves of bread with added sugar. these were the shelves in my local grocery store in Germany today.

@ai6823768 @glacilan I’m referring to toast. As in toasted bread. When you bake bread, the dough goes through an irreversible chemical change that transforms the dough into something else entirely. When you toast the bread, it’s just heating the bread. It doesn’t undergo chemical changes
