@ogamericandad i mean non-domesticated cats, so servals, caracals, pumas etc! i think feral cats are a whole other issue and should generally be removed from the streets or "wild" and placed into a home where they're allowed supervised outdoor time in a controlled environment

@wunderswift Fully agree but I’m curious about this topic. “Wild” cats are considered one of the most invasive species in the U.S. alone, what would be the ethical way of going about that issue? I would assume catch and neuter/spay to release but I want to hear more perspectives and info

@ogamericandad @wunderswift as far as i'm aware standard procedure is trap>neuter>release but i have definitely been seeing a lot more of trap>euthanasia even in situations which don't really warrant it. makes sense though i suppose

@shamuustadium boredom, stress, inappropriate feeding etc.. all we know is it's abnormal but unfortunately common :( apparently it's also been seen in re-released sumatran orangutans

today at the jacksonville zoo, their silverback gorilla repeatedly regurgitated(?) chewed food into his hand, ate it again, then spit it back out. does anyone know what this behavior is ? i could hardly find anything online about it ...

@shooebaby @fangirlexa we already spend a lot of time online and using electronics, the least you can do is not use a generative ai model 🤷 it harms not only the environment but people too and that should be enough to gaf.

i'm so excited to announce that Bowser has found a home with me!!! Lentil needed a friend that could keep up with him, so I went to the shelter last week and Bowser was a perfect match. he fit in right away, and he and Lentil are best buddies now ❤️

please do not support accounts or use gifs which involve primates that are visibly overweight and/or in unnatural situations! these animals are often exploited for this form of content and do not receive proper accommodations for their needs in captivity
