When your principal and asst principal honor your first graders request to dress like a hamburger & fries if they meet their goal on the latest Math Unit Test, you know they are ALL in for the kids! 🍟🍔@KatNgo_ @MariaMenjivar_

When your principal goes to great lengths to be a real sport on field day, it looks like this. Kids loved seeing their principal, @KatNgo_ at the dunk tank. 1st graders could tell she is invested in them. One said, “She looks like a rockstar!” ⭐️ @RosaParksESPTO @MariaMenjivar_

More often than not, our actions are more likely to represent our values than our words. Our kids need actions that show how important we really think that all kids can learn to read and have the right to do so. By all I mean ALL and not just those to whom learning comes easily. These actions include our hiring practices, program purchasing choices, scheduling choices and training choices, when we choose to intervene, an whether or not we have an unbridled commitment to follow the evidence of what are effective reading instructional practices for most and abandon those that are not. No one gets to sit this one out.

Jason Kennedy | Stop Teaching & Design Learning!
I can teach with charisma & excitement with engaging materials, But if no one can see the learning, I really just put on a really good show. It's never been about me or what I'm doing. It's always been about them & seeing the learning happening.

Happy National Principals’ Day to our fearless leader Mrs. Ngo! 1st graders shared their writing in a book about how special Mrs. Ngo. Their words truly showcase the kind of amazing principal she is at Rosa Parks! @KatNgo_ @RosaParksESPTO @MariaMenjivar_
