Grandma has spent 87 years on this earth, and still doesn't know how to work an iphone. Technology has always had demographic barriers (age, background, education). Maybe it's mom needing her glasses to see the screen. Dad butt dialed his top client. Grandpa can't find the mouse on his laptop.
But those barriers are falling. All those hiccups of "I don't know how to use that" are disappearing. The ability to speak in natural language to your computer. Or have it control the browser. Or organize your digital life. It's mind boggling.
Young studs can build better lives. Old people (like my grandma) can stay connected + use technology, and everyone else reaps the benefits of less mundane busy work...plus more time doing what they love.
Banger launch by perplexity. Anyone want a video of my grandma prompting Computer to plan/schedule her next bingo night?? Cinema.

Perplexity started as a small business tool for ourselves. We had 4 people and no revenue with AI at our fingertips.
The pivot to Computer is actually a full circle. Founders are using it to grow companies that matter to the economy and their communities.
It’s rewarding to see it now powering small businesses and startups in big ways.
Perplexity is still a startup. We just 5X’ed revenue from $100M to $500M with only 34% growth in team size. 2x revenue growth in 2026 with same small team. And we’re just warming up.
Everyone here works at a small business, and everything we build is for people who build.

i used to spend 30 minutes hunting for a twitter profile mockup tool just to see if my avatar and header worked together before going live. last night i asked computer to build me one from scratch. took less than 10 minutes. it works better than anything I ever found. now you can use it/remix it by downloading the zip file.

@michaelbeal1 You basically go from "how could we approach this" to "build me these 3 programs/campaigns/ideas based on these parameters" and you polish. Also REALLY helps with concept buy in from partners, etc. You don't describe things, you show them.

@michaelbeal1 As a marketer, it's a pretty wild leverage multiplier. The core PPLX experience is the best for what I consider to be "project infrastructure" - research, analysis, pressure testing.... but with Computer you create fully realized projects, plans, and ideas and then tweak.

The STOCK Act requires politicians to publicly disclose their trades within 45 days of a transaction.
