If building a base layer w/ 6s finality for rollups wasn't enough, we're also advancing the math behind ZK cryptography @benediktbuenz & @SuccinctLabs' @ronrothblum published research on a new polynomial commitment scheme improving the speed/cost/proof size trade-off in ZK proving systems. Since PCSs power SNARKs, this matters to anyone building w/ ZK Read the paper: eprint.iacr.org/2025/2065

Super excited to collaborate with @SuccinctLabs to advance the state of the art in zk proofs. Fast finality + fast proving go hand in hand. Fast finality commits to the transactions, fast proving helps derive the current state from those transactions.

1. To scale blockchains, we need L2s / rollups 2. For those L2s / rollups to work together, we need fast finality for transactions 3. For fast finality, we need Espresso It's that simple

LIVE NOW - Espresso: The Base Layer for Rollups | Ben Fisch & Jill Gunter @benafisch and @jillgun from @EspressoSys join us to unpack how Espresso is building a new kind of base layer designed specifically for rollups. We dive into: - Why fast finality is the missing piece for cross-chain interoperability. - How Espresso complements Ethereum rather than competes with it. - What a world of truly composable, instant Web3 apps could look like. Enjoy the episode! -------------- TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 0:17 Evolution of Espresso 10:50 Expresso vs Celestia 16:08 A Foundational Layer for Interop 28:46 Espresso Order Flow 31:09 Fast Finality 47:01 Arbitrary Data 55:11 Espresso Current Arc 57:59 Ethereum Alignment 1:05:22 Fast-Finality-as-a-Service 1:06:29 How to Get Involved 1:07:26 Closing & Disclaimers

On track to reach subsecond finality in 2026 🎯 We reached 2-second finality on our devnet, which is globally distributed & the same infra powering our Decaf testnet & Espresso mainnet. Credit to our cracked HotShot consensus team pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

5 yrs smethin follwing @espressosys i learned so much w/ them. i gained frm them & frm followin some of brains it bcame part of me sometimes it takes just one thoght, one idea, that intuition to get there they chnged how i see dis space. they gonna change how we run thru gbrew
