Major wins for Modi’s BJP Party in the state elections in India. The BJP wins in West Bengal, Puducherry and Assam. There are now just a few states which aren’t ruled by the BJP.

Modi’s BJP Party @BJP4India has won the state election in Assam in a landslide and will rule the state for a 3rd consecutive 5-year term. Together with its allies, it has won around 100 out of 124 seats. The victory holds major strategic, symbolic, and organizational importance for the party as the party’s “Gateway to Northeast Dominance Strategy” got a major boost. Assam is the largest state in India’s Northeast. A strong hold strengthens the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and helps BJP expand or retain power in states like Tripura, Arunachal, and Manipur. It turns the once Congress-dominated region into a BJP stronghold and supports “Act East” integration. Critics have call BJP a North Indian party but the repeated wins in diverse Assam counter this by showing the party’s ability to adapt to local aspirations, manage identity issues like immigration and indigenous rights, and build broad coalitions. As a border state with Bangladesh, Bhutan, and with proximity to China and Myanmar, holding Assam aids BJP’s national security strategies and will make it easier for the party to counter illegal immigration.

Half of India is celebrating a BJP win, the other half is mourning it. Both reactions miss the point. Elections aren’t the goal - economic growth is. And growth is measured in real jobs. The real question: will Bengal see meaningful job creation?

Congratulations India for throwing the communists out of all state governments for the first time in 59 years. As votes are counted today, it has become apparent that the communists will lose power in Kerala. The commies are out of power across India for the 1st time since 1967

In 2014, the NDA governed 16 states. By 2026, that footprint has grown to 22 states — with #BJP-led alliance expanding across large parts of the north, west, east and Northeast. The biggest shifts came through new wins and alliance-led govts in states such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, #WestBengal, Assam and Puducherry, while the opposition space shrank further across the state map. The result: India’s political map in 2026 looks far more saffron than it did a decade ago. Here's a look 👇🏽
