Dear community,
It is with sadness and frustration that we announce the end of the xCities initiative. Despite the undeniable success of our event in London in November 2024, and our ambition to replicate this energy across Europe, MultiversX has decided not to support this initiative. We were initially met with encouragement and mentions of supporting this for the entirety of 2025, along with a serious proposal to successfully carry it through. It slowly evolved into a lack of response, and then, several weeks later into backtracking on prior statements.
We refuse to conceal our disappointment at the lack of genuine support from MultiversX, especially considering the countless initiatives from our dedicated community that were systematically overlooked or undervalued. Our vision was clear: unite passionate individuals, strengthen our ecosystem, and position MultiversX at the forefront in Europe. Unfortunately, this vision can't become a reality without the support of the MultiversX Foundation.
Nevertheless, our gratitude goes entirely to you, the true driving force behind xCities. We deeply appreciate your trust, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. We also warmly thank our sponsors, whose commitment was immediate and sincere, and that we're convinced our paths will cross again across other initiatives, on MultiversX or elsewhere.
Although this chapter closes with bitterness, the energy and connections forged remain powerful. We hope these bonds will inspire new projects.
Let's continue to build, innovate, and support each other authentically, no matter where the future leads us.
