it's not the end of Destiny 2 for me, but sure it will most likely be over by the end of the year. which is very sad, just hoping a Destiny future will happen. Sony needs to see D2 only "died" cause of lack of content not cause we don't care. we want more Destiny.

@ToddHaberkorn not the highest but by far my highest of any game ever by a mile. game saved me from the forever loop of playing COD every year, reduced my rage levels by a lot 😂

@IFrostBolt i refuse to believe Destiny is just done after this update. i fully expect it to be a hiatus for sure but nothing? i can't believe that, way to big of a franchise. maybe Destiny 2's final update will get a massive uplift now and show that to Sony and Bungie.

ending Destiny 2 so sudden is baffling, said nothing for months now it’s just done. Destiny players aren’t going to just jump to Marathon now. Marathons steam numbers fell below Destiny even in destiny’s lowest low, that’s a really bad sign. I’m worried for Bungies future.

@PaulTassi Marathon's future is so clearly written on the wall. no one asked for it, Destiny player's for the most part don't want it. even if Marathon somehow turned it around, that would make a Marathon 2 happen not Destiny 3. feels like a lose-lose situation for a Destiny player.

The reality is that now, more than ever, people should want Marathon to win. If it can thrive, it can expand in interesting ways, it can give Bungie runway and leeway with Sony for future projects. It's all upside if you want more Bungie games or even more Destiny. Marathon dying from here doesn't help anyone. Though that does not mean I'm going to just cheerlead if things don't turn around

I cannot confirm the existence of Destiny 3 in production/incubation, but A) I would not bank on that, 2) it may be years until we know anything definite and 3) no it is certainly not at the PS State of Play. Expectations in check here

the update looks great, lots of content. very unlikely i'd wanna run old raids for Tiered stuff but a bonus sure. but for Destiny 2 final send off, yes it looks decent. just huffing plenty of copium for their being a D3 or D1 remake announcement soon bitter sweet for sure

@Asmongold @DestinyTheGame as a destiny 2 player, i can't argue. Marathon hasn't stuck with most, here's hoping to a D3 annoucement soon even if it's years out.

@Gladd people have already made their minds up on Marathon

I know this is a fucking dumb thing to say, but ima say it anyway. The closer that Marathon gets to becoming a PvE looter shooter, the more likely I am to playing it, even regularly. And my community will follow. PvE mode is already being added. What comes next?

I don’t know what to say. There will be another time. But saying goodbye like this is more painful than I can fathom. I dedicated my life to bringing you the stories of this world. I can only hope that the road doesn’t end here for good. Video coming soon.

Bungie should have called it after The Final Shape and ended the saga on a high. Everything since has been dire and now a 12-year era comes to an end in a bittersweet way. I hope Destiny 3 is in early development, this franchise deserves better than being abandoned for Marathon.
