🇺🇸 Reagan Shooter John Hinckley Jr. tells TMZ that they should stop holding high-profile events at the Washington Hilton... His take: nothing has changed. Hinckley claims the security was just as lax 45 years later when the alleged shooter, Cole Allen, 31, a guest at the hotel from Torrance, California, used an interior stairwell to bypass all monitored public areas and got one floor above the ballroom before being stopped. A Secret Service agent was shot and survived thanks to his body armor. Trump called the Hilton "not a particularly secure building" and used the incident to push his White House ballroom project. The hotel has been known inside the Secret Service for decades as the "Hinckley Hilton." Former Secret Service agents pushed back hard, though. They're calling it a prevented mass casualty event, not a security failure. Whether it was a failure or a save depends on who you ask. The shooter got further than he ever should have.
