Agott's looks like those big wavy with small ones that flows smoothly, so it's understandable too they chose to simplify it this way instead these

@sorcerers_claw Adaptations standardize designs so that hundreds of different animators can replicate them consistently. The anime can't get away with a blob of solid black and a bunch of random lines like in the manga if they actually want to keep the level of detail they're aiming for but sure

@sorcerers_claw They have to pick where they're going to spend the budget on, like actions and fights or situations with more sfx in this case. I dunno what's the budget for bug films, but it's most of the time rational for the director to consciously make these choices during production

@sorcerers_claw Sorry that I have to stand with the anime team here. If they're considering efficiency + budget working with limited time + animators, they have to simplify curls if it's from characters that're gonna be on screen for most of the time. It's rlly not that easy to animate them
