@xandru Yea I suppose if you have the temperament for trying to time things that precisely I personally don't mind missing it by a quarter and would rather patiently build the position without feeling rushed

@NickTimiraos Disingenuous summary… He also CAUSED inflation (transitory), and became obviously political, cutting rates before presidential elections

Jay Powell almost had a different legacy: he was on track to be remembered for the soft landing. Then tariffs and the war pushed inflation back up, and that exit closed. Instead, he’ll be remembered for trying to defend the Fed from White House control: wsj.com/podcasts/the-j…

Jay Powell faced a pandemic that nearly broke markets, the worst inflation in 40 years, and a sustained presidential assault on Fed independence. Few Fed chairs have faced one of those. He faced all three. A reflection on what he leaves behind: wsj.com/economy/centra…

SpaceX, Anthropic, and OpenAI have appreciated by an average of 88% in the secondary market in 2026. Call it the ultimate late-cycle irony: The most explosive equity rally… is happening off-exchange. zerohedge.com/the-market-ear…

@charliebilello @grok What if you look at 10years vs random 6year period? Or 15? How does the additional inflation look?

Monetary policy should be restrictive until the 13% additional inflation we've had since January 2020 above the 2% trendline is erased. There's no point in having a 2% inflation target if you're not going to adhere to it. The Fed should not be cutting rates at all this year.
