@SYSTEMCRASH92 Do you have a blog or github or anything? I see you have a game up on steam but I'm not really finding much more info. Do you talk about your development efforts? It looks like you are working on interesting stuff!

@xavian Hello Michael! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I created it out of a personal need and will keep improving it step by step. I'm really glad you found it useful!

Public Service Announcement: Solr Exploit Seen First-Hand: Remote Code Execution via DataImportHandler (issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SO…) One of our new clients just ran afoul of this, so only publicly expose Solr services from behind a read-only proxy if needed.

Here's the 6-axis inverse-kinematic model test which is running in real time on an 8-bit @arduino , syncing all 12 motors together to control 3 axis of translation and 3 axis of rotation. It's now time to upgrade the microcontroller to something more powerful. #Robotics #robot

I’m not surprised given default security and steps required to get authentication locked down for basic license most folks probably use for demos. There is an elasticsearch readonly rest plugin. I also advise you make sure scripts are disabled.

Public Service Announcement: Lock down your Elasticsearch server if it's on the internet! Our LTR demo server got hacked with a very nice ransom note ;-(. Fortunately it's a docker restart away from being back. Suggestions on how to keep it open yet prevent this? @worleydl

Well that's fascinating - Amazon launching their own open source distro of #Elasticsearch aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-… "our goal is to address many critical features missing from open source Elasticsearch, such as security, event monitoring and alerting, and SQL support."

@IntranetFocus @molnaragnes @octodude @jdavidhobbs @avirr Let's just say that my Fitbit has exceeded 10K steps a day over 90 of the last 100 days; and partially because of that my weight is 150 lbs, down from 225 lbs. Had to toss my entire wardrobe! Losing weight is expensive, and I can't afford to gain it back! Brain in harmony? Nope:)

This. For any new client engagement, it feels way more work is required for data cleaning / discovery / etl of content than any other part, yet these topics don’t seem to get as much coverage.

@FlaxSearch We need a Mr. Fusion of search; simply throw garbage data into a reactor and get pure refined and usable data out! (DMC DeLorean and Time Travel not included. ;-P)

@xavian I commonly say 'no search engine in the world is going to give you relevant results if your content is in a mess. This isn't magic!'

@softwaredoug Agreed. We use search to reduce the scope of work needed before more expensive NLP approaches are applied, which really helps responsiveness. Our approach reminds me of backface culling, a common 3D rendering optimization.

Or is a lot of 'machine learning' really search under the hood :) Watson was 1/3 Lucene and 2/3 other searchy tech
