@jrossean @omgsidewalks Agreed. The employers trying to pay people minimum wage these days, are the same ones who complain to me that nobody wants to work anymore. Nope. They just don't want to work for employers that don't recognize their value.

@xboxter @omgsidewalks I employ a handful of people. No one makes minimum wage, not even the high schoolers. I wish minimum wage would just stop being a thing. The market dictates pretty well what people should be paid.

The minimum wage is actually meant to be the lowest wage you can live on and afford housing. So, for everyone saying "it's not meant to be that," yes, it is. That's why it's called the minimum wage.

@jrossean @omgsidewalks You're right, but being a minimum wage, part time employee means less hours, and no benefits. That's a reasonable expectation.

@xboxter @omgsidewalks But when you raise the minimum wage it includes all those kids and college students and a bunch of people that aren’t the primary bread winners.

@jrossean @omgsidewalks Because those are mostly part time positions. A person making minimum wage and working 40 hours a week was intended to be living above the poverty line.
