May is Wildfire Awareness Month, a reminder that extreme weather and drier conditions mean wildfires are a near year-round, growing threat, even in areas where they were not commonplace before. As a result, we've developed a crucial partnership with American Red Cross of Colorado to help deliver wildfire prevention guidance and home safety information, supporting families across Colorado. On Saturday, May 23rd, the Denver Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Team will be conducting a Smoke/CO Detector Installation Initiative from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM in City Council District 8, which includes the Montbello area of Denver. After significant snowfall causing widespread damage to power lines, power has been restored to more than 75,000 customers since midnight. @XcelEnergyCO My power has been out since 2:45am and it's now 7:45pm. There's been 0 updates both on the site and your SMS system. The least you could do is be transparent with your own systems on restoration time, even if it's delayed. I would love an update, even if it's not happening today.

Some of our communities saw significant snowfalls of 12" or more overnight, leaving approximately 55,000 customers without power. Our crews are out repairing damage, focusing first on repairs that will restore power for the largest number of customers. We appreciate your patience as work continues in hazardous conditions with more snow expected this morning. @XcelEnergyCO It is a complete abdication of responsibility to provide no useful updates on these outages. Your outage map is garbage, your SMS system provides no updates, & I’m hours past your original estimate to restore power. I need to know if I should pack up and find shelter elsewhere.

@XcelEnergyCO downed electrical service line in Denver. Reported four hours ago and ticket incorrectly closed by crew who confused it with a telephone line (???). House dark, no power. Wellshire neighborhood. How does someone legitimately mistake that for a telephone line.
