🚨UPDATE: DELPHI CO-FOUNDER SLAMS CIRCLE OVER USDC NOT FROZEN IN $285M DRIFT EXPLOIT
Tommy Shaughnessy (@Shaughnessy119), co-founder of @Delphi_Digital, has publicly called out @circle for failing to freeze USDC tied to the massive Drift exploit.
Shaughnessy argued that Circle's inaction exposes a glaring contradiction, a stablecoin marketed as decentralized that is, in reality, fully centralized.
"Circle not freezing the USDC is hilarious because we know it’s centralized but they’re like nah, we’ll let the money freely flow to North Korea," he stated.
The criticism comes after Drift, a Solana-based DeFi protocol, suffered a devastating exploit draining nearly $285 million in digital assets, according to Bloomberg.

private key theft is not the same as a protocol hack. drift protocol was not hacked. 2 keys were obtained by the attacker.
2 possible options:
- people on the team got hacked and had the seed phrase stored digitally somewhere.
- people on the team are the attacker.
likely the former, because us humans cant resist putting seed phrases on internet connected digital storage.

@solana founders are incredibly resilient and beyond capable of achieving pmf. I have received countless dms and will try and get to them all! As some very general advice: 1/ points work until they dont, the question is what behavior you built beyond them 2/ defi is still tiny, build to onboard not to siphon 3/ a protocol that works for one power user and scales to a thousand is a good business - one that needs a thousand to work is not 4/ dont optimize for TVL, optimize for the type of capital that stays when incentives end or incentivize a behavior that leads the user to uncover more value than the incentive is worth and that will persist long after its gone 5/ the best founders I have talked to can tell me exactly who their product fails for

Everyone talks about solana stuff at ethcc, it's just viewed as a crypto conference in general. Just happens to have eth in the name. Same with the bitcoin conference, 99% of attendees of the bitcoin conference hold altcoins. The south of France is one of the best places on earth for a conf, second only probably to Miami where I can't wait for the solana conference this may!

it needs 2 things:
- more original yield bearing collateral
- more USDT/USDC to enable looping
