hate to be a party pooper but the ux for trading stocks on hyperliquid, lighter etc. still sucks had two liquidations this week due to abrupt wicks without any moves in the underlying markets funding rates are often sky high and not arbed away still too illiquid basically

@Void_of_Hype ostium is really good they're more like a broker tapping into tradfi markets the downside is that its only open during tradfi market hours

@0xdumah yes, it does, but it is offshored and relegated to a segregated caste of society that the educated class no longer sees or even knows about the difference is that these jobs used to be ubiquitous - a far larger proportion of society was required to contend with reality

@kaledora All this stuff still gets done. You work and live in a milieu where people who did these things are unlikely to be able to access.

dangerous jobs early in life used to be the norm. if you ask almost anyone over the age of 70 about their early 20s, they’ll tell you about the time they jumped out of planes as a paratrooper, spent months at sea as a merchant marine, or worked a summer on an oil rig. for most of human history, there was an implicit social contract: young men had testosterone and a desire for adventure, and society needed someone to do the dangerous things that kept the world running. we now live in a much safer world, which is good, and those same instincts are now otherwise channeled, but I think we’ve probably lost something in the quiet evaporation of that social contract

@kaledora Spot on, but It’s more like a necessary evil to unblock regs to get us to something like superstate which is direct equity issuance

have you considered that tokenized stocks are simply reinventing ADRs from first principles

@kaledora I made this direct comparison myself. Most tokenized stocks are, at best, ADRs. Only the issuer-sponsored ones are the real stocks. @Securitize and @Bullish have most of that market right now.
