Why are we maintaining servers for websites that barely change? Give clients the rich editing experience they expect; publish the public site as pre-rendered solid-state HTML to the edge; and spend less time babysitting databases, plugins, and servers. exohcms.com/features/deplo…

@theo I like how i can open it one folder up from my projects and have it understand across all of it. I also like Jetbrains products better, but really dislike their ai implementation.

@heysidoku Very cool, I've noticed in other parts of the development cycle as well that these tools really help tighten the feedback loop with the customer. Such a big deal!

our process looked very different a year ago. we used to start with IA, wireframes, then Figma. felt like we were spending forever before the client could even see anything real. and the wild part is design was never linear to begin with. we just hadn't figured out how to speed up the right parts. so we changed it. we now start by vibe coding inside Claude. surprise surprise lol. it's become a thinking buddy for the early stage. what information to show, how data should flow, what the baseline UX needs to be. instead of spending days wireframing assumptions, we have something real to click through and react to almost immediately. it also helps us prototype interactions and animations way earlier than we used to. so we're finding the right problems at the right stage instead of discovering them way too late. once that foundation is solid, we move into Figma. that's where the brand language comes in ideating on the themes, look and feel, etc. and with the Figma MCP we can pull our designs straight into Claude and have it tinker with them directly. thank god for that. honestly the best investment I've made this year is 2 weeks of really learning Claude and a $100 Claude Max subscription. we skipped so many steps we used to think were non-negotiable. happy this new era breaks my beliefs every day.

I lowkey can't blame softare devs for writing webslop desktop apps. QT6 is so annoying to work with. Are there even any other choices if you want to make something that works on MacOS, Windows and Linux?

Choosing a Flutter state management solution takes longer than actually building the app. Change my mind. 😅

@cmgriffing yeah, it's weird to be concerned about building a proper context for the work you want the agent to complete. especially when you are working on a larger feature i found it to be very useful!

I'm seeing people complain about plan mode. But when I read their comments they are equating it to Waterfall (all planning up front). Meanwhile, I don't see what's wrong with using a read-only mode to make sure you and the agent are on the same page for a small task.

For some reason @Typora is just the type of editor I need to get into the flow of writing a bit of content. I also LOVE how it transforms from and to markdown when you're copy/pasting from other apps. Especially useful now that a lot of tools rely on Markdown. Worth it!

Half the joy of collecting retro gaming is the box art, the cartridges, the artifacts. We've lost something important giving up on those physical manifestations of software. Comeback?
