@CNET recently covered our @MWCHub journey—a challenging one indeed. Our team was supposed to fly out the very day the airspace in the UAE was closed. Prototypes were already packed and demos expected—so canceling wasn’t an option. We had to rebuild the plan in real time. But even with a smaller crew, our team kept the booth running, walked visitors through the prototypes in detail, and even managed to bring home a Best in Show award from @wareable. 🇦🇪 Dubai officially entered the Global Top 10 for new unicorns in 2025, according to @dealroomco. Five new unicorns minted in a single year, marking a structural shift in the global tech map. We’re proud that @xpanceo was a key driver to this evolution.

@xpanceo was included by @ForbesME in the list of the five most funded startups in MENA in 2025. A deep-tech hardware company headquartered in Dubai, scaled outside traditional tech hubs, working with global research partners. The geography of frontier technology is becoming less centralized.

Middle East venture capital reached record levels in 2025. As noted by @business, we closed one of the year’s largest rounds — a $250M Series A — and joined the unicorn club. Across the region, startups raised $3.8B through 688 deals, up 74% year-on-year. The signal is unmistakable: MENA is rapidly consolidating its role as a global launchpad for deep tech, AI, and fintech built to scale. That’s not a bad way to start the year. And it’s a clear sign that the center of gravity is shifting.
