@dastrader maybe I shouldn't have reinstalled with newest but it's the first time I had such issues and I needed to quickly recover. Also, when I clicked tools->restore settings (in hope to reset def. acc to non-sim) it got back to default starting workspace but also overrode default.dsk

@dastrader I got this error after auto-upgrade dastrader.com/docs/no-more-o… so I reinstalled with newest downloaded and it started failing some of my hotkey scripts (at least the ones I tried) and it was switched to sim acc.

Actions speak louder than opinions .... Market influencers, 'Market Wizards' In reading the 'market wizards' books (I own several), I disregard the opinions and focus on their trading actions. It's hard to do actually... it's logically to understand trades by their opinions...but opinions they give are no better than anyone else's... Look for the action they did on the trade...when it was made, how they exit..etc. Trading action is what you underline in the book, not the opinions. This new market wizard opinion was wrong here on silver. dec 27, $SLV at 71 Jan 30, $SLV at 100+ " @Tradestl Dec 27, 2025 Silver will be interesting to watch this week as I think we are close (time wise) to a short term top " In 'Unknown Wizards, the bellboy who beat the market pros.' .. he provides the trades he makes on a stock with an ER and the ones he makes... disregard his opinion, look at the strategy action. that's the only thing that's important. Forget the opinions.

There are 100x more people living in mediocrity because they were told they couldn’t than those who used that same doubt as fuel to rise. “You can’t” isn’t guidance. It’s usually projection, confession. The spiral starts when people who never took the chance try to protect themselves from discomfort. Watching you attempt, and possibly win, forces them to confront their own inaction. Your ambition can trigger their inferiority, so they try to shrink it. But here’s the truth most overlook: The biggest achievers in the world are often those who faced the highest levels of adversity, and turned it into work ethic, resilience, and relentless output. Even envy, misunderstood and mislabeled as purely negative, can be one of the most powerful driving forces when redirected toward growth instead of the negative jealousy. Most negativity pushed onto you isn’t about your limits. It’s about someone else protecting theirs. The strongest resistance often holds the greatest fuel potential. Greatness doesn’t come from avoiding adversity. It comes from pulling back the curtain, stepping through it, and using everything you find on the other side. The world is a web of push and pull mechanism designed by our drive to conform to social norms.

@macrocephalopod Sit down, you had a chance to defend your viewpoint and still expect everyone to rub tax filings and broker statements in your face? You seem to be the one that’s larping x.com/theonelanceb/s…

ARE THE QUANTS RIGHT!? IS DAY TRADING A FOOL’S ERRAND!? I am tired of these ignorant threads. I would like to Livestream a debate. Myself and @baynkr debating the merits of discretionary trading against @AgustinLebron3 and @macrocephalopod. For a few months now there have been two notable quants on FinTwit ranting that discretionary trading is near-impossible (or at least not worth anyone pursuing): @macrocephalopod and @AgustinLebron3. It is my belief, they are speaking out of their ass having come from a different side of the industry and the same way I have no business speaking about the quant side, they have no business spreading misinfo to the masses on the discretionary side. I particularly believe that @AgustinLebron3 has no freakin clue what he’s talking about on the discretionary trading side of the business (particularly stuff like his claim that a firm needs to be a broker-dealer to be legit lol). I acknowledge that @macrocephalopod has far more balanced and reasonable views. For quants of appreciable intelligence, they both though somehow make the most basic of logical areas again and again. Just because most traders fail, doesn’t mean you will fail and shouldnt pursue it. It also doesn’t mean it’s a worse expected value than other pursuits. Who wants to see this convo happen? Each side presents their claims, evidence, and debates each other’s points? Because my god am I ready to rip apart some of the dumb shit Agustin keeps saying on this app.

“How did you verify that the people in the book actually achieved the trading results that they claim?” “Uhhh well … I don’t want to go into detail … we developed a 20+ factor model …. We reviewed documents at varying levels of detail … I wrote a section on it in the book…” You could just say “we didn’t verify it” and it would provide about the same level of confidence, i.e. none.

@thelaptoplegend Serious question but aren’t you looking at R’s all wrong? I get you might be betting exponential but 1R is how much you risk on any given trade. Let’s say you bet exponentially 10R (which often is 10-20%) then tour return on this trade suggest 1:122 RR trade which seem off.

$SLV what a sick sick opp today. Unfortunately it has been a very tricky month for me due to a number of factors. Was red -0.2% on the year coming into today despite being up ~+7% in the first 7 days. Also outside factors making it tough to execute. Due to that I was woefully undersized given the intraday permutation, wanting to not fight front side with size while it was over vwap. Still have some put exposure on overnight, willing to use that as hedge to try long if we get steep flush sub 100 in after hours today. If we can gap up tmrw will put back on some more short exposure.

+$1,808.73 $LAZR What would you guys prefer seeing in my recaps: actual dollar profits or gains in R multiples? In 2025 I started to track everything in R (risk units). It’s a game changer psychologically because it keeps the focus purely on process and execution instead of the raw dollar amount. One big reason I love it: trading in R stops me from constantly comparing my current performance to past years when hitting six figures in a single month was normal. Dollars bring back those memories and can create unnecessary pressure or complacency. R strips all that away; it’s just clean performance metrics that keep me grounded and consistent no matter the account size or market conditions. I of course know how much cash those Rs represent, so I've concluded I can post either way on here. Still strongly encourage everyone to think and trade in R; it’s way healthier for longevity. Let me know what you prefer seeing: dollars or R?

What are some of the most euphoric or deeply satisfying moments you have experienced in trading? What brought the most incredible, exhilirating emotions? What makes trading worth it? Two categories of events come to mind personally: 1. Surviving a catastrophic disaster and feeling relief that you are alive. Happened 3 times in my career. 2. Nailing multiple trades on max size with great efficiency. Happens once or twice per year, but nothing ever works perfectly. Below is an example of dodging a catastrophy. I shorted $ZJYL two years ago on December 18, 2023 and by some miracle had the foresight and luck to get filled on the first resumption. I sat in a hotel room in Istanbul and watched in shivers how the indication creeped higher and higher. If I hadn't gotten out there, my small account would be completely wiped out, and probably even negative at the 4 pm resumption. It was just the beginning of my career, and who knows what would have happened if I didn't get out on time. After I got out and was safe, I remember watching the indication show ever higher numbers and just being thankful and happy that I can continue trading tomorrow. That day I learned that "all it takes is one."

$SmallTipForDAS Button to open browser directly to Dilution Tracker or Finviz in DAS for a ticker in the montage. Felt like sharing today, not many people talk about this kind of things so maybe it will be useful for some, a while ago I created different type of buttons to improve my performance, one of them being a button that connects directly to Dilution Tracker for a specific ticker (opens the browser of dilution tracker/finviz with the ticker of the montage), the way to set it up (steps): 1. Allow creating buttons: On the Montage window, right click on it and press Layout config, then add to the right all you see such as Level1, Level 2, Trade, Button (as shown below in the picture, basically this allows that you can create the buttons) then click OK. 2. Create the button: Right click again on montage and click "Add Row", then specify the amount of buttons you want to create. 3. Set it up: Now button is created and you can just add the scrypt that opens Dilution tracker or finviz to the ticker that is specified on the montage, right click on the bottom -> click Edit then add the following to the scrypt (as shown in the picture below, btw it will open on the browser you have set up as default in your computer): dilutiontracker.com/app/search/%SY…% For Finviz: finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=%…% Now when clicking the button it will open directly the ticker for you, it helps when checking many things fast, if you liked, feel free to share.

A great read by @moretothat (non-trader) that I think all of us can relate to. “This reinforces the dynamic that what you earn is never enough. If making a 10x return turns out to be a painful experience, how does that shape your relationship with money and how you view the world? More importantly, how does that affect your capacity for gratitude?” moretothat.com/speculation/
