WE WANT TO CONTINUE COOPERATION WITH HUNGARY ON ENERGY SECURITY
A few minutes ago, I had a phone conversation with the winner of the Hungarian elections, Mr. Péter Magyar. I congratulated him on his result and invited him, as the newly elected Prime Minister, to pay a traditional visit to Slovakia.
An official visit by Péter Magyar to Slovakia, or my visit to Budapest, will be preceded by a working meeting at the EU summit in Brussels.
I emphasized that Slovak–Hungarian relations have for many years not been a subject of political competition, and that I care about the good coexistence of Slovaks and Hungarians in Slovakia.
The main reason for my call with Péter Magyar was to learn about the positions of the new Hungarian political leadership regarding the reopening of the Druzhba oil pipeline and the lawsuit against the RePowerEU regulation, which the Slovak Republic and Hungary are filing against the EU in connection with the halt of Russian gas and oil supplies. I suggested discussing any other topics in person.
Referring to the fact that Péter Magyar is not yet officially the Prime Minister of Hungary, the winner of the Hungarian elections responded to my questions only in general terms. However, it clearly emerged from the conversation that Péter Magyar’s priority in Slovak–Hungarian relations is, and will be, the Beneš Decrees, on which we have fundamentally different positions.

Through Brussels, we have received an indication from Ukraine that they are ready to restore oil deliveries via the Friendship pipeline as early as Monday, provided that Hungary lifts its blockade of the €90 billion EU loan. Hungary’s position has not changed: no oil = no money. Once oil deliveries are restored, we will no longer stand in the way of approving the loan. The disbursement of the loan does not impose a financial burden or obligation on Hungary.

@MercuryBarbora To nie je výzva... 😅 to je konštatovanie... ono to tak v živote chodí... ľudia tomu hovoria karma.. čo si myslíš, dobehne ťa to niekedy? 😁

@PavelNovotnak Ustál jsi to v klidu, kdyby ses začal bránit, ti dva by tě tam ukopali.

🚨 BREAKING: Your internet fiber cable is secretly listening to you right now.
Researchers from hong kong just dropped a paper at NDSS 2026 showing how they can spy on your conversations through the fiber optics in your walls.
They successfully turned ordinary Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) cables into hidden, long-range microphones.
No laser bugs. No physical implants. No drilling through walls.
Just the broadband cable that is already sitting in your living room or office.
By connecting a commercially available Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system to one end of the fiber, they can measure microscopic vibrations caused by sound waves in the room.
Then, they use AI to reconstruct those vibrations into crystal-clear speech.
Through walls. From adjacent rooms. From up to 50 meters away.
It was tested on actually deployed infrastructure.
The attack cost is dropping. Commercial gear is all that is required if an attacker has access to the other end of the fiber connection.
Millions of homes and offices have FTTH installed. And every single one is potentially exposed.

@SlavicNetworks Only Czechs and Slovaks are at such a cultural and intellectual level that they can cooperate and not kill each other. No other Slavic nation has these qualities. I'm sorry, but it won't happen, there will be no Slavic unity.

🚨SLAVS WAKE UP
We are 300+ Million Slavs – And Millions More Forgotten or Fading. Is It Time We All Stand Together?
We keep sharing the hard realities because they affect every one of us:
- Energy blockades hurting Ukraine, Slovakia & Hungary
- Language & identity disputes between Bulgaria & North Macedonia
- Unresolved pain from the 1990s in Serbia, Croatia & Bosnia-Herzegovina
- Tensions with Albanian communities in Kosovo, North Macedonia & southern Serbia
- In Poland: strong official support for Ukraine alongside growing frustration over the Volhynia tragedy, economic pressures from imports & refugees, and differing views of history
- The devastating Russia–Ukraine war with its immense human cost, corruption issues & layered historical grievances
- Varied international alignments across Slavic nations – some leaning toward EU/NATO, others maintaining ties with Russia, others engaging other partners
But the story is even bigger – and more painful – when we look beyond state borders:**
Slavic minorities in Germany (Lusatian Sorbs / Wends, Kashubians in diaspora, Polish communities in the west) are shrinking fast. The Sorbian language has fewer than 20,000 active speakers left; many villages are losing their Slavic character through assimilation, German-only schooling & out-migration.
- Slavic minorities in the Baltic states (Poles in Lithuania ~200,000, Russians in Latvia & Estonia ~25–30 % of population) face ongoing challenges: language restrictions in schools & public life, citizenship issues (especially non-citizen Russians), historical memory disputes & occasional political marginalization.
- Forgotten Slavic communities in Central Asia (Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Czechs, Bulgarians deported under Stalin; descendants of Volga Germans & others) – millions still live in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. Many have lost the language, face economic hardship, and are rarely mentioned in pan-Slavic discussions. Their presence is a living legacy of shared history – yet they are almost invisible today.
These are not just “minorities” – they are part of the same family.
Assimilation, discrimination, forced migration & forgetting are erasing pieces of who we are.
The total Slavic world is far larger than state statistics show**
– 300–320 million people identifying as Slavic
– Tens of millions more in diaspora & minority communities worldwide
– Shared roots that have survived empires, wars & deportations
Despite the divisions and pain, many Slavs still feel that deeper kinship – in music, food, humour, resilience & the way we face hardship.
**A respectful question to every Slav – from Berlin to Bishkek, from Warsaw to Vladivostok:**
Do you believe greater cooperation among Slavic nations & communities – built on mutual respect, dialogue, economic ties & shared cultural preservation – could help protect our minorities, reduce external pressures & build a stronger future for all of us?
Or do you feel the current paths (EU integration, NATO structures, bilateral ties with global powers) offer better security & prosperity?
Slavic Networks reports what is happening.
The future is what we choose to build.
