Tucson’s STAR Village safe sleeping program helped 82 people since launching last October. The site offers shelter and supportive services for women and non-binary individuals experiencing homelessness. Located near Grant Road and North 6th Avenue, STAR Village operates at full capacity, with up to 25 individuals living there at a time, and has helped some residents transition into more stable housing and temporary shelters. City officials involved in the pilot program report that the presence of STAR Village has reduced crime in the surrounding area by 35%. Tucson City Manager Tim Thomure's Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 2027 includes $300,000 to extend the program for another year, if Mayor and Council approves. #SafeCity #cityoftucson

Shout out to this driver for illegally speeding past me in the center turn lane only to end up stopped together at the red light less than 100 yards ahead. If this is you or this is how you drive, please slow down before your selfish, reckless actions kill someone!

Fuck Dexcom and its bullshit forced upgrades. The G6 works great for me. Why should I be forced to use the G7?!? I hate having diabetes. Not bc of the illness itself. But bc everything in my fucking life is determined by people exploiting my illness for profit. Rant over.

@dirkbbasher @Mr_Husky1 A prescription is required for the insulin used by Type 1 diabetics. It shouldn’t be, but it is. You cannot get analog insulin (humalog/novolog/lantus/levemir/basaglar) without one. It’s nonsensical but true.

I’m a pharmacy tech. Chain store. We have a policy. No prescription, no medication. Period. Man came in. Late fifties. Asked for insulin. “I ran out. My prescription’s expired. Doctor’s appointment isn’t until next week.” Checked his records. Type 1 diabetic. Last fill was on time. He wasn’t scamming. “I can’t give it to you without a prescription. Policy.” He nodded. Started to leave. Knew what would happen. Diabetic emergency. Hospital. Maybe worse. Called his doctor’s office. Closed. Left a message marked urgent. Called the pharmacist over. Explained. She looked at the man. Looked at me. “We can do a three-day emergency supply. I’ll authorize it.” Gave him three days of insulin. He tried to pay. She refused. “Get your prescription filled next week. This one’s on us.” He left crying. Thank you over and over. Came back the next week. Prescription filled. Brought us flowers. “You saved my life. I would’ve ended up in the ER. Or dead. For following policy.” That pharmacist got written up. Corporate found out. Medication given without valid prescription. She didn’t care. “Write me up every time,” she told the district manager. “I’ll break policy every time to save a life.” She still works there. Still breaks policy. For people who need insulin. Inhalers. Heart medication. Three-day supplies. Emergencies. Corporate stopped writing her up. Decided it was easier to look away. Because sometimes policy kills. And sometimes breaking rules saves lives. —Andrea, pharmacy tech

I’m a little confused. @PeterAttiaMD said he’d “steel-man” the anti-seed oil point of view, specifically @paulsaladinomd POV. Peter later says: “I don’t this matters all that much. My lack of enthusiasm around this topic is probably palpable.” And then, “please take the ‘no seed oils used’ off your menu. It insults me” Setting aside my own point of view — which honestly may sway more toward Attia than Saladino and certainly isn’t blanket anti-omega-6/LA— I think what’s handicapping this podcast is perceived insincerity that there was actually interest in exploring both sides of the issue. That seems to be the thrust of public feedback, although one might fairly point out I have a biased sample pool. Thoughts? If such a #seedoil debate were redone, HOW would you like it see it done?
Nick Norwitz MD PhD@nicknorwitz

I’ll say this once so people stop hammer DMing me about it. No, I was not invited to this conversation. Yes, @paulsaladinomd, who was going to engage, suggested me as a substitute. @BioLayne pushed back strongly, citing a lie 🤥 he’s been using to avoid me — that I attacked him while his mother was sick. In actuality I simply checked him on errors he made on our data in a real time response to intellectually weak work. As an added layer of irony he was wearing a “Data > Feelings” shirt when he did so. His text to Paul is pictured below (with permission from Paul) And FWIW- here is the source insult that cause @BioLayne to throw a hissy fit, construct a lie, and spread false rumors to avoid taking responsibility for his error and issues: youtube.com/watch?v=yiq67w… At this point, I do not consider him a reliable source of information, and his disturbed behavior and pathological tendencies to bully when he’s threatened reveal a character I’m quite glad to be rid of. And @BioLayne I don’t need you for “clout” or “promotion.” I’m doing just fine TYVM 😊. Peter is, of course, entitled to host whoever he wants on his platform. My impression is that the idea of replacing Paul with me was never seriously on the table to begin with. So no points against him on that front. My understanding is that @paulsaladinomd ultimately declined because of restrictions placed on the debate format—you’d have to ask him for details. For what it’s worth, if I were to debate this topic, I myself would also strongly prefer a live or no-holds-barred format. Paul and I did end up having a conversation on @KONCRETE Danny Jones’ podcast, which I enjoyed.

Not good news. A month ago I could see fine. Now one eye has shutdown. It cannot read or see faces without distortions. I have to close it to type or read. At the doctor again today. No cure. Whatever work I can do for books and movies has to be done as fast as possible. This will spread to the other eye and that's gonna be it. No more research no more projects, only interviews on stuff I already know. I can not stress enough how much we need this film done now. I added another hire yesterday. Givesendgo.com/911

@fa1rplayy @PeterAttiaMD Totally agree. @PeterAttiaMD not a whisper about childhood vax schedules or Sutcliffe say she would like to put herself out of business by reducing her clientele, So, tired of these drs afraid of ruining their cushy lives by saying something controversial @PeterAttiaMD .

@PeterAttiaMD Just finished listening, please give me back my time 🙏🏻 so much noise, so little signal aside from therapy. Almost 0 about prevention (maybe injecting so much stuff in the first months contributes?!), only general statements. Very very disappointing.

I’ve gone my entire adult life not being able to peel hard boiled eggs without them looking murdered. Believe it or not I’m actually a really good cook…but peeling eggs is the one thing I’ve never been able to do. I can fold a fitted sheet. I can cook an amazing meal. I can even sew and knit. Someone give me the damn secret.

@TucsonParksRec The proposal made complaints that Columbus was a reminder of genocide, abuse and oppression to indigenous people. People can feel however they want, but what makes that park is so special to indigenous people and did Danny Lopez ever even visit that park? I don't understand
