Dr Sal Clark and I wrote for @ConversationEDU about the Government's decision to refrain from asking crucial questions about gender and sexuality in the 2026 Census. This decision completely ignores the best practice guidelines designed by the ABS, as well as NGOs and activists.

I really like this graphic @xvmls! the detail of binary numbers 010101 transforming into nuanced thought, really adds impact! 💡 When we place people in these confined boxes, we are risking leaving out valuable contributions from those who have been ‘othered’. #PhdVoices

While #QueerTheory seemed like a valuable approach for research, I felt in my first year of my PhD that as a cis hetro #WomanOfColour that it was not applicable to my work #PhdVoices Without the lived experience was there value of me learning, applying #QueerTheory to my PhD? 🤷🏾‍♀️
