@TheJamesScanlan @AdamLenson If they are selling tickets in advance they will know what server and bandwidth capacity they need, and would use load balancing cloud architecture to achieve this. If something like Samsung unpacked can stream to 100s of 1000s without tickets, we can easily do it with tickets.

@AdamLenson So, when a website hosts a show, they have to be careful they don’t welcome too many people to watch... as it’s live, if too many people are on the site at the same time, the site can crash or the video can have buffer issues...

Why are streamed digital theatre shows selling out?

@TheJamesScanlan @AdamLenson Not quite the same thing, on black friday they have to guess what capacity they will need and they spin up more as demand increases (which takes a little time), but with an online shop they have much more complex software to run in the background too and that has to scale also.

@AdamLenson Same way that websites crash on Black Friday or new console release dates, too many people accessing can cause the server to crash

We run a business grade home network that is working correctly, no changes in months and has been rebooted to rule things out. This affects all devices, wired or wifi. Using 4G works perfectly on these devices too. So this must be an issue at your side or a peering network!

@OriginBroadband The last few days we have had connectivity issues. Primarily websites loading intermittently, not able to login to certain sites even if they do load. For example I could search something on google change the search term and it will fail for a few mins!

@Hermesparcels waiting on a parcel and its been "out for delivery"/"expected to deliver tomorrow" for about 2 weeks... any ideas when I should expect it?

@VodafoneUK why so difficult to NUC a 2 year old phone that has a SIM in it for nearly 2 years until the other day! Upgraded phone and put the SIM in the new phone, came to unlock the old one and it now needs a SIM in it for another 30 days... ridiculous! Sort it out!

@Eurovision Why have you removed the complete grand final video from youtube, but left the complete semi-final videos? I don't want to click through 30 different videos, I just want the full broadcast without commentary (or I would watch on BBC iPlayer)
