@greek_scientist @PeterDiamandis @ParrishLiz What you're missing is the reason why the Hallmarks/Pillars are ever-expanding but the seven SENS categories are not. It's because the hallmarks are a classification of processes (of decline) while SENS classifies types of damage. That makes all the difference.

I tracked every billionaire who died in the last decade. 389 deaths. $2.17 trillion in wealth. 6 helicopter crashes. Here's what I found.

This is a great question. And a big question in any biomedical field is whether we know enough to translate findings to the clinic. Folks will always disagree, but here are my two cents. I think we understand little of human biology and very little of aging, making clinical translation very challenging. That is why, in spite of efforts from big companies and labs, caloric restriction remains the top longevity intervention - nearly a century after its discovery! And poor fundamental understanding is why there is no treatment for complex diseases like Alzheimer's. So, I think we need to learn more, absolutely. Once we understand the aging process we will be able to design more effective therapies. Lastly, I would love to be proven wrong. If someone creates a 10-year-old mouse based on current knowledge, I will change my mind. In fact, even a 7-year-old mouse will probably do at this stage!
