@ItsLazBoi it sucks because it's very hard to comeback from this new shift, if Hexe wasn't planned to be the actual start of the new modern day then this new story will keep being completely optional low budget side quests and documents locked to battlepass levels

For the record I think pushing the modern day away from being in sync with reality and instead being a near future fictional setting is infinitely better. That said, it doesn’t mean it’ll be written well, or interesting or enjoyable or any other positive adjectives.

It’s so funny how this continues the trend of AC Modern Day stories never concluding ever. What was Juno’s plan? What happened to Project Phoenix? Did Bishop get a nice retirement plan? Why did Valhalla end that way? WHO KNOWS!?

@AccessTheAnimus I wouldn’t be mad at the time skip if this new modern day had obligatory gameplay and story, making modern day optional and using the rifts to say it has “gameplay” is as big of an identity loss as what the RPGs did to the historical side

The more we see of this game, the more it's modern Ubisoft-isms are revealed. It might be sporting refined graphics & it might feature a character, setting and story we hold dear... But is it truly that much better than Odyssey, on a fundamental level? Maybe, but it's negligible.

@Raven_Crank Theres much more to this than "RPGs sell more", the pandemic was HUGE for Valhalla, it wouldn't have these numbers otherwise, the popularity of the setting too is way more important than the genre of the game and people buy more games now than they did in 2007-15

@Raven_Crank There is no official confirmation that Valhalla is the best selling (in terms of units sold), just that it had the biggest revenue, mostly due to in-game shop armor packs, that the games pre-RPG didn't have.

Objectively ac valhalla was the BEST SELLING in the series. So no it wasnt dwindling lmao. Shadows did very well and what ubisoft expected. Idk why this narrative exists. The rpgs are THE most successful assassin's creed. Even if i like the ogs WAY MORE

@TheHiddenOneAC Valhalla is by far my favorite of the RPGs, but man... Imagine how cool a Viking-Assassin would be, begin the game with Eivor questioning the viking beliefs and way of life (like she does at the end) and finish it with her as a full Assassin rebuilding the brotherhood in England

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Remake. - Make most regional arcs optional (only 7/20 involve Sigurd & Basim) - 15-20 hour main story - Main focus on hidden ones - No dialogue choices (similar to Origins) - Complete overhaul on stealth - Rework parkour to current iteration - Trim down England map (too much filler) - Focus more on cities - Add localized modern day gameplay missions - Remove romance entirely - Reduce frequency of raids

New Assassin's Creed Hexe information according to j0nathan, so take this with a grain of salt. - Will reportedly feature a mentor character named Wolfgang - Wolfgang is described as morally grey, similar to Bellec from Unity - He’s apparently Anika’s mentor early in the game - Ezio is also claimed to appear in Hexe - But reportedly "not in the way people expect" - Could involve memories, Isu tech, or maybe similar to Altair's appearances in Revelations (speculation) - If true, Hexe may have much stronger connections to the older AC lore
