Nearly 10,000 attendees. A church leader introduced him as "beautiful." What he actually said He opened by calling the pastor who introduced him "my old friend." Then came three themes: ･ Middle East crisis and economic response ･ National unity and solidarity ･ "Peace over conflict, love over hatred" He said almost nothing about the resurrection. The religious language was decoration. It was a political speech delivered from a pulpit. He was later cleared. ･ Two conservative pastors have been arrested since Lee took power. ･ Democratic Party lawmakers are pushing a civil code amendment critics call a "church dissolution law." Two problems 1. Separation of church and state is supposed to protect religious institutions from state interference. It runs both directions. The state should not control the church. The church should not become an instrument of the state. What has happened here inverts both. The Lee administration raided churches, arrested clergy, and advanced legislation threatening church autonomy. Then it accepted a pulpit, delivered a political speech, and received a standing ovation. When the state uses religious platforms for political messaging, and the church responds with applause, the separation has already collapsed. One side enforced it with handcuffs. The other surrendered it with praise. 2. The pulpit belongs to God. No one has the authority to hand it to power. The greater threat is not external pressure.
