Youth Alliance for Sustainable Development retweetledi

At #ARFSD12, Pan African Climate Justice Alliance took a bold stand as Eugene Nforngwa @Eugene_Nforngwa challenged Africa to rethink its just transition pathway.
In a powerful side event by Akina Mama wa Afrika, ACPC, TJNA & partners, under the theme “Moving beyond extractivism to care-centered approaches to Africa’s just energy transitions,” the discussion challenged narrow energy narratives, linking just transition to taxation, care economy, social sectors & equitable development models.
Eugene highlighted Africa’s need to strengthen its engagement within the UNFCCC by advancing bold, justice-driven proposals anchored in trade, industrialization, technology & a new economy.
“Energy access must be a credibility test for COP32… it must support Africa’s full development from industrialization to clean cooking.”
Africa’s transition must work for Africa. Period.
