ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ಹೇರಿಕೆ ವಿರೋಧ ಮತ್ತು 'ಪಾಸ್ ವಿಥೌಟ್ ಹಿಂದಿ' ಜಾರಿ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚೆ ಇಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ನನ್ನ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ "ಹಿಂದಿ ಹೇರಿಕೆ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ" ದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನವಿರಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅನ್ಯ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಹೇರಿಕೆ ಇರಬಾರದು ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ನಿಲುವಾಗಿದೆ. "ಪಾಸ್ ವಿಥೌಟ್ ಹಿಂದಿ" (Pass Without Hindi) ಶಾಲಾ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತೀರ್ಣರಾಗುವುದು ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿರಬಾರದು ಮತ್ತು ಇದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಕಾನೂನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟವು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ, ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯನವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ತಜ್ಞರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಪರ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಕೈಬಿಡಬೇಕು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರು ಕೂಡ ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಅನ್ಯ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಹೇರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪರ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಾ.ರ ಗೋವಿಂದ್, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿವರಾಮೇಗೌಡ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಧಾಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ಶ್ರೀ ಪಾರ್ವತೀಶ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು. #NammaBhasheNammaHemme #LanguageEquality #RegionalLanguageRights #CMOSiddaramaiah #KannadaPride

This picture says more than a thousand words. It captures, in one frame, what our political culture has been reduced to. A national icon like Venkatesh Prasad, a man who brought pride to India, whose spells against Pakistan are etched permanently in our collective memory, is today standing with folded hands before a Chief Minister. Why? Not for any wrongdoing. Not for any failure of duty. But simply because he did his job. Because he did not anticipate that the brittle egos of politicians would be bruised. Because he did not bend to a culture that expects free tickets, special treatment, and unquestioned entitlement. This is the tragedy. When those who have served the nation with excellence are made to stand in deference, and those in public office demand privilege over accountability, something has gone fundamentally wrong. This is not just about one incident. This is about a deeper decay. A political class that sees power as entitlement, not responsibility should go. A system where excellence bows, and arrogance sits should go. A new generation of political class is badly needed at all levels. If this does not disturb us, nothing will. India deserves better. For whatever it is worth, I stand with @venkateshprasad. And I know, millions will.
