कुछ प्राइवेट फार्मा कंपनियाँ ब्रांडेड दवाइयों (medicines) पर 600% से 1000% तक मुनाफ़ा कमा रही हैं। यह कोई आरोप नहीं, बल्कि संसद की समिति की रिपोर्ट में दर्ज तथ्य है। जहाँ वही दवा generic रूप में 80-90% सस्ती मिल सकती है, वहीं सिर्फ ब्रांड के नाम पर आम आदमी से कई गुना कीमत वसूली जा रही है। बीमार इंसान के पास मोलभाव का विकल्प नहीं होता, उसे किसी भी हाल में दवा चाहिए, और इसी मजबूरी का फायदा उठाया जा रहा है। स्वास्थ्य कोई व्यापार नहीं, अधिकार है। गरीब और मध्यम वर्ग की गाढ़ी कमाई दवा कंपनियों के मोटे मुनाफ़े में नहीं जानी चाहिए।
